Is this all stuff they said will be in the next update, or just stuff they want to do 'eventually'?

EDIT: PAGETWOMINE

Our apologies, but we had to make an adjustment to our initial highlights post. The puppetmaster will indeed receive job adjustments, but as to the question about the Puppet's spell priority, that is working as intended. The attachments and such should be switched out to work around the problem with the -na spells.

Highlights of Q&A Session with FFXI Development Team

- The ability to rapidly exchange campaign tags will be adjusted to discourage players who spam songs and self-buffs to gain experience in campaign.

- A security feature is being planned similar to the Account Authenticator device created by Blizzard.

- Dynamis costs will be reduced in next version update.

- An addition to the battle system is being planned to encourage melee and mage jobs to work together to coordinate attacks.

- The development team is considering revealing hidden food effects, but some effects will remain hidden.

- Campaign in the cities is intended to reflect the harsh times of the Crystal War, but adjustments are planned to keep certain NPCs, such as the warp NPC, from disappearing during battle.

- More job adjustments are planned, but no adjustments are planned for puppetmaster spell priorities.

- Square Enix is working on improving the account recovery process.

- There are no plans to enhance the Square Enix-sanctioned windower.

- Winning numbers for the Mog Bonanza lottery were randomly chosen, and the process was strictly supervised to prevent any improprieties. Participation in the lottery was a huge success and the event will likely be repeated next year.

- A new scheme is being created to help low- and mid-level players gain experience.

- No immediate plans are in place to increase the number of weapons players can merit.

- Group 1 merits are planned to be added soon for Scholar and Dancer.

- Additional rewards will not be added to notorious monster bosses on floors 20, 40, 60 and 80 of Nyzul Isle assaults.

- The development team is against the concept of transferring content IDs because the feature could possibly be exploited by RMT.

- It may be possible in the future for players to change their faces and hairstyles.

- Chocobos will soon be added to the WoTG areas.

- A hint is in the PlayOnline topics banner about new relic armor for recently added job.

- More sellable gear is planned to be introduced as the RMT threat declines.

- More SE employees are being trained in hopes of increasing the frequency of in-game weddings.

Uh, so that's the same with Drain, Aspir, and Absorb-INT over nukes always? Just wondering.

This needs to happen yesterday. I'm coming up on 5 weeks now, waiting for my recovery to be complete.

I'm not even a PUP and I can see how horribly messed up that is... Why can't SE? >.>

Kinda makes it sound like the PUP's AI is tweaked the moment the attachment is put on the equip screen, so maybe the order of people putting them on is resulting in the -na behavior. Kind of weird, but I guess I could see it depending on how the coding is tiered.

Um... hint? Is it a hint that there's a PUP wearing AF2 in Dynamis Jeuno? That's not so much a hint as it is bluntly hitting us in the face lol... I love that ToAU jobs are still considered recent. Lulz at all the DNCs and SCHs, if this is the case you'll be waiting eons for your AF2.

I'm extremely excited about a lot of the things coming up including improved exp for lower jobs, cooperation battle system changes, weapon skills accessible without the new relic weapon.

I'm quite happy that it was a pic of an existing zone. That means we can expect some increased dynamis attendance.

I hope someone specifically mentioned -na spells, drain, and aspir (not just a generic AI-tweak question). The answer is depressing, as expected, but maybe someone at SE is paying attention. It's definitely not "working as intended". It took them nearly a year to realize the inhibitor was broken. I also can't say I'm surprised, given the responses to the "casting silence on crabs" and "puppet loses TP while resting" questions in previous interviews. They denied there was a problem in both cases.

I'm 99% sure they're referring to the damage gauge. Even with this attachment equipped, the puppet still casts -na spells over cures, even with light maneuvers. Furthermore, there hasn't been a single account in the community of the puppet ever casting a cure over a -na spell. It's obvious there's no way to stop drain and aspir either.

Donomni wrote:

Absorb-INT is only cast with a dark maneuver. That's working properly.

Drain and aspir are cast at 75% HP/MP, and no combination of maneuvers and attachments will stop them from being cast.

But how will SE incorporate this incredibly simple feature in WoW into a baffling ordeal into FFXI? Perhaps we can all wait on hold while we call POL to activate this feature, since we'll obviously need to confirm our identity before using such a devise.

Soo, while Blizzard, Sony Online Entertainment, NC Soft, Turbine, Codemasters, Funcom, etc - while these companies have all found a way to allow players to transfer characters between accounts, SE remains steadfast in its opinion that it is simply impossible to do. All MMO's are plagued by RMT in one form or another, using this as a constant excuse has become quite old and tiring.

Including print screen would indeed jeopardize game stability and quality, while no doubt being used by horrid 3rd party bad people to ruin the game! Or we just don't want to now, we'll save that for later when we can charge $30 for another expansion.

To be forgotten in favor of "PS2 limitation".

wow, there is just no pleaseing some people. all those issues that you are comming up with that might not even turn out to be issues are all you can mention?

Yet you ignore all the other good things.

also, again, blizzard has 10 million subscribers, which means they have more income to spend on things.

I know this many seem to be a really minor issue to some. but having been turned down numerious times. People get upset when they cannot use a service that was offered. I myself have had "Zero" Luck getting married.
(A good rich man is hard to find) Applying and applying and hearing nothing or being turned down is upsetting.

That's odd....they specifically said they weren't adding rewards to 20, 40, 60, 80 on Nyzul....instead of saying they aren't adding additional rewards to Nyzul Isle in general. I wonder if that means the 100 bosses are going to drop extra stuff? And whether that stuff is Nyzul relic associated or just general stuff, could be interesting.

I think this is related to some questions by players on whether or not the Nyzul sub-bosses should drop the items normally associated with them outside the zone (since you fight things like Behemoth.) SE said recently in an interview that the bosses were intended to be obstacles, not potential sources of extra loot, and that they would not be adding the "normal" hnm drops to them. No bonus behemoth hides.

The summit was one day, but please understand that we were brought back to the hotel at close to midnight and worked on the highlights until 1:30 am. It will take some time to do our full writeups, but you should hopefully see them by Monday.

I have a question that hasn't been answered yet.

Can the new WSs be obtained without needing the weapon from Nyzul Isle? Because there are conflicting reports about this. According to Alla, "most players will be able to obtain the new WSs", but according to FFXIclopedia "you'll need the Level 100 weapon to quest the WS". These two statements obviously contradict each other since "most players" don't have access to Floor 100, and even if they did, the drop rate for any given weapon they need would be so small very very few people would get the quested WSs. "Very few" =\= "Most".

I already read that. I actually referenced that in my first post, that's the reason I asked why SE would tell FFXIclopedia one thing, but tell Alla something totally contradictory. There is no way SE seriously thinks getting the Level 100 weapons is something "most" people can do.

I realize the guy said "this is straight from SE" but the info that "most people can get these WSs" is also straight from SE obviously, since both sites attended the same meeting. Quoting someone saying "this is straight from SE" is pointless since both of them got their info from the same source. Alla could just as easily have said "straight from SE: most players can get these WSs" and it wouldn't make this any more clear.

I'd like Pikko or Thayos to explain this, if they could.

Fred.
