If Vajra enhances Sneak Attack and has "Occasionally attacks twice" then Mandau/Vajra will be horribly, horribly broken.

dont all jobs get one? if so where do we find out the info on the all the jobs?

SE claims that these new weapons arent supposed to be the hardest hitting weapons in the game right?

Dyna relics get "occasionally do 2-3x dmg" and huge +stat bonus's which balances it out some, new WS could also be weakish which would make using them over other stuff in order to get aftermath a tradeoff. But then again these weapons were also supposed to be much easier to obtain than dyna relics -_-

all jobs get a nyz relic, but SE didn't release info on every nyz relic

Hey everyone,

I've uploaded pictures of Allakhazam's portion of the Premier Site Summit Relic weapon, Murgleis.

When they announced that we would all be getting one exclusive job per site, we were of course extremely excited. Being a Red Mage, Thayos was beyond excited that the two of us were to be the first players in the world (even before Japan Q&A!) to use the Murgleis and its new weaponskill.

but this ws was in the WotG trailer that announced dnc way back last summer....

only thing we didn't know was the name....

you guys got cheated

edit: This video at 1:32 shows Death Blossom. although as I said, we didn't have a name. It also shows pld's, war's, and pup's, though only the final hits.

Also, that video explains why the RDM had a Joyeuse and was able to use Death Blossom, when we all thought that you had to have the fully upgraded Relic (which wasn't shown) in order to use it. Also, people are guessing that the "Occasionally Attacks twice" is part of the Aftermath effect, however, SE tends to put "Occasionally Attacks Twice" as the last line of any weapon no matter what.

hmmmm, I'm inclined to believe them. When SE writes "latent:___" everything following the "latent:" is part of the latent (see: Wootz Amood). Changing the duration of aftermath/strength of WS would be a easy way to adjust the weapon's power.

It's with the aftermath. The idea that it's on the last line no matter is flawed Partly because there has never been a weapon that does attack occasionally with an effect that isn't part of said effect. Examples of weapons that do attack occasionally with the latents met: Virtue weapons and maybe if you really want to waste gil, the Amood series of axes.

Edit: Typo weeding is fun, so much fun.

Boy, cool your jets people. I did upload the stats pic, I just forgot to post it. I was late to leave the hotel and missed it. :P See the OP for it now.

Also, each PS was assigned a weapon by Square Enix, so we are not allowed to disclose information about another site's weapon.

Very true, was just stating that "Occasionally Attacks..." always comes as the last line. In most cases, SE tends to be the "Defining" stat of the item on the last line before which jobs can equip.

Awesome, many thanks, Pikko!

....how the hell can you enhance Convert? 1 HP > 2 MP ratio, I guess?

Either that, or just transfers 1-to-1 enough HP to fill your MP, and then reduces the recast proportionately (i.e. if you were at very low MP, it'll still be 10 minutes; if you were at 50% MP, it'll be 5 minutes or so; and so on).

That's my guess... I told people in game that the stats were out, everyone is thinking how the hell do you enhance convert. To me, it sounds like HP > MP but you retain half your HP.

before convert

800 HP
10 MP

After convert

400 HP
800 MP

Either that or it allows for MP overflow similar to how Drain II allows you to go over your max HP.

Maybe you won't lose any HP when you Convert, and it will just "copy" your HP into your MP bar?

Imagine we'll have to wait for Thayos' explanation on the Convert thing. A 1 HP/2 MP ratio doesn't excite me all that much, as it just means saving around 100 MP on cures. As is, I tend to sit on extra MP after Converting. Another possibility is it offering a Regen effect a la KotR, but that's kind of the same on the MP savings front. Lowering the recast timer would be the most ******** possibility, but god people would scream bloody murder on that one if Convert could get to like 4:10 timers with merits and halving.

So you've either got a weapon that's a convert macro,

Or, if the boosted MAgic Acc/Att is mroe than an ele staff, a weapon where you'll have to melee, then spam your magic whilst Aftermath is up.

Awesome? Eh

The WHM community would be out for SE's blood if that happened after they said they didn't realize how SCH was going to overshadow WHM, and plan to give whm adjustments in the future to help with with invites.

What, giving WHM some spells that can't be subbed and are spell equivalents of Madrigal/Minuet (we already have our equivalents of March and Minne - Haste and Protect) wouldn't help WHM invites? Smiley: grin

Then again, if those showed up and were halfway decent, good luck getting a WHM to show up for a party.

So it has a enhance Convert feature. Well I wonder if that's going to be really good or if it's going to level you qith a quarter of hp. Which actually is a step up but still have to debate if it would be worth the time spent.

I'm terribly sorry if this has been asked before, but a question arose between myself and a friend earlier. Supposedly there is a "rumor" that you need to get the weapon from floor 100 of Nyzul Isle to obtain the weapon skill, that you just don't need to upgrade it. However, as I said, this is just a rumor. It does have me slightly worried however. I do hope these involve some sort of quest, be it hard and long, I don't mind. I just personally hope it's something more exciting than getting the weapon drop from floor 100 of Nyzul Isle. This is all just rumors and speculation on my part, however, it is food for thought.

I believe the rumor you're hearing is entirely incorrect.

More likely, the WS is obtained through a quest in the past, hence the frequent demonstrations of the WS in the past on SE's part.

Yes, this would make sense. I really hope it is the case.

The question remains though, if we can get these weapon skills without the weapons themself, what is the benefit of obtaining the actual completed relics? Perhaps they are what give the added or bonus effects? Or perhaps some hidden effects like the Dynamis Relic Weapons?

Also, didn't SE at one time say something about either the weapon skills or weapons themself only realizing their full power in the past or something to that nature? Perhaps it has something to do with learning the weapon skills in the past, or only being able to use them without the relics in the past? I'm honestly not sure, just going off of random thoughts in my head as to what this could mean.

From the way it sounds you need the weapons to unlock the full potential of the weapon skills. As in the aftermath effects. Kinda like Dynamis weapons that's not in the final stage.

The weaponskills are basically straight damage effects (at least, for the ones we've been told more than a smattering of info about). However, they add a status effect to the user, "Aftermath".

The completed relics react to this status effect by enhancing a couple of stats and giving an "Occasionally attacks twice" effect (at least, the ones we've seen so far do). In addition, they give a bonus to a JA or group of related JAs whether or not you've done the WS.

On the minus side, I halfway expect Lycopodiums to aggro to Aftermath, considering how they apparently have a presently-disabled TP move that adversely affects TP (if memory serves, that is)...
