Indeed, about time...

My analysis of the picture:
1st one: I see a fellowship NPC, Armittie, in what appears to be one of the past battlefield zones. (I guess SE forgot to type /names...) Quests related to NPCs in the past, it looks like... And is that a POW hammer?

2nd one: Eh, nation quests something or other.

3rd: BLM, WHM, RDM? All look like they're holding those holiday bells or something...

This could be really good, or horribly bad.

Knowing SE's track record they will buff a job beyond all reason then nerf it 1~4 days later.

Can't wait for the update, looks interesting.

Black Mage is going to get E level great sword skill, to go with their scythe skill.

Have there ever been any version updates that didn't have this?

EDIT: By that I mean a battle-related adjustment. They don't always dole out the superbuffs.

I believe that area is the 2nd room in Voucher 7 (marble runs). It seems like you can take your fellow into MMM with the update. That hammer looks hilarious though ;)

That, or some HNM is about to spawn there ;)

Either holiday /cheers will start to do damage, or it's a hint at the frontline magery that SE announced. To bell or not to bell, that's the update...

Sigh... early april...
#12REDACTED, Posted: Feb 27 2009 at 2:47 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I bet this update will be lacking again, they are already decreasing the amount of updates per year it would make sense they would add less per udpate too. They are really scrimping FFXI out lately..

the update will be on april 1st and they will gather GM's to stage a demonstration of how to kill AV

then warp out when he pops and let everyone die while saying "april fools"

Yeah, they'll add it to RoTZ zones at least, and hopefully add more books per area so you don't have to run back million miles to get new page.

Btw, NPC in MMM will be huge win... finally I can solo it!

Yay FoV!!!

As a lowbie, I just hope they add a book near each officer (like border ones too) and add some books to the Crag zones! It's hard to get to solo-lvl on some jobs from the starting books to Valkurm.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing some additional books elsewhere in the zone that cover different pages and use some mob combos that aren't in the first 5, or maybe larger quantities for bigger single rewards or something - sorta like an Advanced book.

But adding FoV to other areas (like zi'tah, altep, teriggan, or even areas without outposts like the 3 jeuno zones) would be great. Would also be nice if they expanded the treasure caskets to match.

You don't really understand how much change they can possibly put into "battle-related adjustments and additions" do you? lol.

What you actually saw was SAM in the now equippable PLD armour, with their new off-hand Great Hammer, that they dual wield along side their GKT.

Oh god SHUT UP it's a one handed weapon in that picture. They're not adding new weapons, learn to live with it.

Maybe this will be the update where they make Mythic weapons less of a joke.

Edit: Hmm, Decent > Good > Excellent > Good > Decent. Will you bastards make up your mind already?

This should certainly be the "Out of range" BP adjustments if nothing else. Hopefully ward range too, unless they thought changing a radius variable was too time consuming.

If only additions were the avatars though.

SE magically managed to make these new mythics have a great WS and suck as a weapon, or have a worthless WS and be great as a weapon.

I'd like them to fix WSes first since both SMN, BLM and SCH WS should obviously be a MP generating one, just like the WHM WS. No mage wants to deal damage with a stick, they want to restore MP.

This also will be the update where SE removes SMN from the game because they really just want Mellowy to STFU.
