Banned for RMT?Follow

BTW the person that was banned since June 21st, they probably didn't review your account in time, its best you make sure a ban complaint is filed, or you file another one ASAP. Good luck. ><

I did. I was banned on June 21st (Sunday), and got a ban complaint filed on the 22nd (Monday). I kept calling in to customer support every day that week to check on the status and on Friday I was finally told that they investigated my account and decided it would remain banned. Of course I was like wtf I did nothing wrong, and the rep told me this ban was the hardest to get around unlike the ban in May for charge backs or the current ban in July for RMT activities. I even had a GM verify I had 0 strikes against my account and even he could not understand why I am permanently banned.

When I asked what I was banned for, all they would tell me is "irregular activities" but would not tell me exactly what it was. Then this 3rd round of bans came in the form of the RMT bans, which a lot had to do with gardening. Customer support said if I was banned this month due to RMT, I would have had a better chance of getting my account back and they would have told me exactly what I was banned for. So apparently being banned for being a RMT isn't as bad as being banned for borrowing a family member's credit card temporarily. I should have just started selling my gil online or something...

But anyway I haven't really heard of anyone in the June wave of bannings getting their account back. Nobody knows exactly what that ban was for, and customer service is keeping the details on that locked up tight. They also are making it nearly impossible to get their account back, making being a RMT even more inviting because customer service told me that they had a better chance to get their account back. I was finally told by one representative it had to do with "irregular CREDIT CARD activities" but that still isn't enough information on exactly what activities are irregular enough to get permanently banned for, especially when I still paid my fees every month and have nothing else wrong with my account. I mean any other company will allow the use of another credit card as long as they have some form of documented authorization, which I called in to customer support to give them voice authorization when I used it. But I don't know, I've already had 2 ban complaints filed and they still told me I am going to remain perma-banned. I'll see what this letter to Bisby and this complaint to the BBB does.

Phone number is for that office only and is the same office the 800 number on Playonline's website directs you to, so don't call expecting to speak to William Bisby personally. Apparently he is too good to answer e-mails or phone calls so Customer Support says the only way to contact him is by mail.

I don't think he actually exists.

Take a look in the PLD forums for the response to that, and yeah, I've signed off on SE completely. Not even going to consider XIV at this point, either. Ah well. At least I'm still in contact with my friends, which is the most important thing I got from FFXI anyway.

I love how the majority of the people banned (myself included) received emails stating that "NO NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST YOUR ACCOUNT". Obviously that's complete and utter ******** since they were just using the whole chargeback thing as a way to sugarcoat mass bannings of innocent players.

So Dracoth, they're telling your brother that he was banned for a charge back, and that charge back means he is a RMT? If so that's really stupid. I got banned in May as a part of that wave of bannings for charge backs but I got my account back immediately when I phoned in to customer service. The reason my charge back occurred was because I had my credit card stolen and my company rolled back a lot of charges, hence the reason I borrowed a relative's credit card temporarily. I contacted customer support about it and they said that was perfectly fine and no action would be taken against my account for it because I paid off the charge back immediately with another card, and I had called them in advance to explain the situation. Only 7 months later I got banned for it anyway (lying @#%^s -.-), got my account back immediately, and then a month later got banned yet again for reasons they won't tell me other than "irregular credit card activities"... Which sounds like it was because I changed the card on my account 7 months ago. Which begs the question, why the hell did I just suddenly get flagged now when I haven't had a different card on my account for 7 months now? I just don't understand it. People are eventually going to get new cards at some point in time so why ban someone for that? Anyway...

I haven't heard anything about that charge back linking me to RMT stuff. I asked the rep if the ban had anything to do with RMT and he said no it did not, and if it did he would be allowed to tell me. So I think the last round of bannings led to a lot of mistakes, which is probably why they aren't allowed to give anyone information because they know it's a load of bullsh*t and it would only make them sound stupid for it.

Still, I don't understand how having a charge back means you are guilty of gil buying. A lot of people have had charge backs on their account. I know one in my dynamis ls that does it regularly and he said he never even got banned for it. So how is it that your brother is guilty of gil buying because he had a charge back (that they can't prove which is lol), but someone like that in my dynamis ls can do it regularly and not get touched for it?

The "chargeback" is the initial thing they told my brother. When he demanded proof, they could only say, "Oh, look, you have a perfect record... There's no charge back listed, but that's the reason I'm told to tell you for the ban." It was a load of crap. My brother fought with them for quite a bit until the rep finally said, "Look, you've got something that suggests you are RMT, and hence, you are banned." At that point, my brother exploded. The funny thing is that there were six accounts in use for each of the runs... it's funny to me that only one of them got singled out.

They really aren't the brightest about this at all. Eventually, people are going to realize that no matter how fun the game is, knowing how you're going to get handled when they ***** something up is going to drive away enough customers that their MMOs won't benefit them at all.

No we will just pay off AV for his trick. Becasue, well... SE aparently does not know what it is either.

Seriously tho. This **** has gotten way out of hand and as usual SE reps are no where to be found. Its elemental nerf all over again but because not as many people are effected we probably wont hear a peep from them.

SE GLOATING ABOUT OUR BANS

I like the part where they say "btw don't forget to report more people."

I'mm activate an account and go make reports about everyone I see thats selling items from gardening, people that camp any NM, people that xp in zones where the drops from the mobs might make gil, and anyone thats generally not JP... I'm so upset.

Isn't that the point if making the numbers public, so that the stf can gloat and say see what we did, we did get em, we got the rmt.

after all that was why the stf was invented, was due to outcry for a long time of rmt controlling the economics of the game and things being way to inflated.

And that would make you what? better than SE? better than the people who laugh at you from being banned (there are some people like that but they don't post)

I would laugh if that account you made got banned too.

Nah actually if you follow my posts, i'm outright depressed it happened to everyone... I even feel bad for RMTs atm lol...

Take a joke when its a joke, why would I make such an outcry about this situation and then pay ---> SE <--- to gain access to hurt others????

Anyways its not like you didn't have a point.

Hey, I would be depressed too. I'm waaaay too attached to my character to just leave without sending some letters and making some phone calls.

But it already happened to me once (I got my beloved taru back), and while it was sad I moved on. There are a lot of good games out there. Addictive too (final fantasy tactics advance: the war of the lions curse you), I would spend my time doing that instead of reminding myself of what I don't have. Just like when you break up with your bf/gf, you want to put your mind somewhere else.

I really hope this is resolved for you, but in the meantime don't hurt yourself thinking about this. What ever will happen will happen anyway.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do ;)
