They would more money selling it all separately.

Apparently, SE making it convenient for a new player is a bad thing to you.

They should add a "Credit Card Requirements" box next to the "System Requirements" box, so new comers have an idea of what they're getting into.

The new version isn't really any different than the old version though aside from a couple new version updates.

Those couple of new version updates is the difference between a 10 minute patch download at start and an eight hour one.

SE's inability to provide decent content delivery during offpeak times shouldn't be what makes their new disc the "ultimate" edition.

No. Your Saikyo is unworthy. Also, the pink makes you look fruity.

Carry on.

It's the ultimate end of FFXI edition that you place on your bookshelf as an souvenir.

I'm all for this. Dropping PS2 support opens the door for a client update.
Which will never happen. Still would be glad to drop ps2 support though.

Will you bet your **** virginity on it?

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Well, all that said about the world ending and everything...

It is a really pretty website. We finally have one for XI (took them damn near 6 years).

Who says he has it?

OT: New client would be in line with the whole "SquareEnix ID will be used for XI and XIV" idea.

It is not strange at all. I predicted a new collection shortly after ACP came out, then re-predicted it again when people heard about the recalls of Vanadiel Collection 2008 and started panicking.

Guess it proves that saying something often enough means it's bound to come true eventually. The fact that recall had no marketing aspect to it at all of course is irrelevant I suppose.

Which isn't "making it convenient" how? Just because it's only a small incremental change doesn't make it pointless.

The name does give the feeling of finality, implying this package includes everything there is in FFXI and everything there will ever be in FFXI. Perhaps we're reading too much into the name, but that is how it hit me at first glance.

FYI, Ultimate has two meanings.

1. Last
2. Latest

For any other game, I might be concerned by that. But this is a series that has been called Final Fantasy right from its first installment 20 years ago.

But it was named that with intentions of there never being a sequel.

Ultimate: a marketing buzz word designed to draw in additional sales.

That is all.
