Woot, thanks!

So does that mean this is in Feb update?

Not sure, actually. They are officially calling this a minor update, right? And the March update as a major? Semantically I guess they mean March, but if they arent playing a semsantics game it could be February.

Still hoping for the AH merge to happen sometime this year.

While I'm sure it's just an oversight; those that wanted to store their BRD AF weapon are SOL.

Guess I'll have to keep my Paper Knife with me forever.

Well considering the Major is 50 I think, 20 would be minor, and since I don't think for many many years(post beta maybe) there has been an update this size between updates I would say that for most people this many items getting changed in mid Feb. is Galore, especially considering last Feb, there was no update it most certainly is.

I like the new SE, almost enough to play again, but abyessa just wasn't enough of a change to keep me playing though. I mean the new team is ******* awesome. Its to bad that all there is, is PVE. Bring on real nation conflicts, with real rewards already!.

Found this on wiki and thought it was kinda funny.

Historical Background on wiki wrote:

The term "paper" usually refers to a type of thin material typically used for writing. The fact that many songs, both the musical notation as well as the lyrics (sometimes together, sometimes separate), are written on paper is most likely the use of this item's reference to the substance. In ancient Egypt "paper" was sometimes made from Papyrus, used by scribes to write the doctrine of Pharaoh and used by minstrels of his court of songs to praise him. They were always armed with dirks, or short swords. The story of Bard AF involves the charming of a princess.

Let's ride the logiccrazy train!

Paper is a material used for writing.
Music and lyrics are written on paper.
Papyrus was made in Egypt.
In Egypt scribes wrote the doctrines of the Pharoah.
Minstrels of his court maybe wrote down some songs on papyrus.
Minstrels in Egypt were always armed with short swords.
The Bard questline involves charming a princess.
Therefore it makes sense that Bards would carry paper knives! It's because Egypt and papyrus and princesses!

And are there really people on the internet that have never seen paper before and need it explained to them?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_knife

Pretty sure it's just a letter opener. Made of metal.

It also makes for a great paperweight, since it's pretty much useless for anything else.

for stat bonues: minor is 10, major is 30, superior is 50.There are several mislabels that have caused confusion over this. This is for str, dex, int, mnd, agi, chr. attack and def and eva and acc are different.

Also I think the perspective on these details is a bit off... they do several notes of release spread across several days for the week preceding the update.

I'm thinking the update will probably be the 15th of Feb. I expect there to be at least 2 more similar announcements before then.

and now I'm getting things mixed in my head for which updates are mid-feb and which are march... ah merger is mid-feb right?

AH merger isn't even confirmed. It's something they're looking in to.

I bet when/if this ever happens we will all be required to remove our items from all the Auction Houses, in case anything goes wrong, or risk losing our items. I can already see the threads here and other forums: "The AH merge made my XXXX and YYYY disappear!!! Waaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!" and "How the AH merge made me poor".

They have the ability to send all objects on the AH back to the person who put it up. They have used it in the past.

Odd, I don't recall reading that, but I know I read that update. Oh well, I was (thankfully) wrong. The merger has been needed for a while now.

People who had to hop to other servers during the Great Merger already had to do this. I don't recall seeing any ***** stories from people who lost their stuff. People had more than enough warning.

It's already kinda rare that anything worth over a couple mil goes on the AH, anyway. These items tend to get sold in Rolanmart.

I've been saying that there should be a way to store AF weapons even before the porter moogle system was implimented. After that, I figured that would be the most logical way to have it done. I'm not as excited about it as the exp adjustment, but I'm not going to complain about more inventory space. Yep, I'm a pack rat.

You know they removed bazaar taxes from Jeuno a while ago. You don't have to stand outside the town to sell your stuff anymore.

For years people got into the habbit of making Rolan/Sauro/Talliamarts so it's not something that will change quickly. Abyssea killed it nicely though.

I think even S/E may be inadvertently blurring the February and March updates for some by not specifically saying the February update.

Quote:
Q: Will the item awarded for completing the Treasures of Aht Urhgan missions be made reobtainable in the future?

A: Yes. Players will be given the option of reobtaining the reward item ahead of the next major version update.

So, we can assume that any "ahead of the next major version update" refers to Mid-February update? Even though, we've seen things which were supposed to be in an update but delayed because of issues and then simply added by themselves. Thus, perhaps, why they are not specifically tagged to the minor update.

Interesting, on my server (Titan), Sauro-mart died VERY quickly after the Jeuno bazaar tax was eliminated. Quickly as in days/weeks. Everyone just moved inside to Port Jeuno nearly immediately. Every now and then you'll still see a lone Bazaar icon for old time's sake in Sauro. Usually not.

Port being Titan's bazaar zone is kinda chaotic now, because in addition to being the new default gathering zone thanks to Abyssea, it's shopping central. Causes tons of lag, but it's actually kinda nice being able to browse bazaars while hearing the shouts and seeing what's going on. We have a fairly small population anyway though since we are one of the smallest worlds that wasn't merged (currently ~1000 total online on an average time), so it's manageable.

What's up on other servers? Did your server use Rolanberry Fields > Lower Jeuno? Have people migrated bazaar mules from Lower to Port due to Abyssea, or not?

You don't have to assume anything, you're quoting from an earlier Q&A. The 02/07/2011 update note specifically says the February mini-update will add the ability to re-obtain TOAU rings. So it's confirmed.

Correct. But:

Quote:
Q: Are there plans to lift level restrictions placed upon battlefields for nation of allegiance missions?

A: Yes. To begin with, we are planning to lift level restrictions currently in place for the battlefields listed below, the implementation of which is expected to take place ahead of the next major version update.
- San d'Oria: Journey Abroad / The Ruins of Fei'Yin
- Bastok: The Emissary / Darkness Rising
- Windurst: The Three Kingdoms / The Final Seal
The lifting of level restrictions is also being considered for certain other quests in the future.

Same "ahead of the next major update" wording but not listed in the 02/07/2011 update note. What I'm driving at is "can we generally assume that 'ahead of the next major update' wording from that Q&A equates to things we should be looking for in the mid-February update?"

There are probably other update notes coming? I'd assume the mission level restriction changes will be featured in an upcoming version note, either before the update or in the day of update notes.

Though you're probably right that previous Q&A/Twitter comments that referenced things coming "ahead of the next major update" likely means the February mini-update (provided there are no unexpected delays pushing those things back).

I'm thinking no level cap increase until the major update. I don't think a cap raise has even been mentioned?

I liked it better when the bazaar's were outside in Rolanberry. It's easier to browse through all the different bazaars since:
1. They are all in one place.
2. There aren't people idling there for other reasons, like you get inside Jeuno.
3. Your cursor targeting going from one bazaar to the next doesn't get messed up as easily, since you don't have the constant traffic of other players running by like you do inside Jeuno.
