Speed belts are 11mil on my server still. I'm wondering how much do you think it will drop once we spam these bcnm's.

Anyone who spends 11 million on a speed belt when there are knight crabs up and unclaimed for hours every day is a ******.

The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

The problem is that there is no real way to obtain seals. There are no mobs that drop them more often. I don't think treasure hunter applies.

You can't fight a tough NM and get clumps of seals to drop.

All you can do is let them slowly pile up over time, or go insane murdering easy trash mobs.

Is that really how you people want to see a 'hard earned' item? Should Empyrean weapons just be "kill 100,000 easy prey crabs" to complete?

Content from 2003 (e.g., black belts and the other already or soon to be obsolete items from land kings

Just watch SE make the new belt be a continuation of the Purple Belt -> Brown Belt -> Black Belt quest series.

loldrk.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Goading_Belt

Goading belt + Bale +2 head/body/hands + Ace's feet/legs = 26% haste.

5-hit is the important reason to use Goading.

To bad BB isn't nearly as godly or must have as it used to be. The only melee stat that really matter on gear is haste, and MNK can cap that without BB. For the only other relevant use for a BB (WS) there are half a dozen better belts for that as well. At this point BB is simply a trophy item like a Speed/Vbelt.

Yes, they CAN cap that without BB. BB allows you to dedicate fewer other slots to haste, though. I also really would like the -PDT that's on the belt, too.

I mean, ****, I didn't need Twilight to cap haste on my DNC, but that didn't make the belt not useful.

Goading belt + Bale +2 head/body/hands + Ace's feet/legs = 26% haste.

Or alternatively:

V-belt + Bale +2 head/body/hands + Homam feet/legs = 26% haste.

DRK sucks because they lack a critical hit WS not because they lack haste gear.

You are preaching to the choir.

Goading Belt doesn't get mentioned because it isn't even as strong as Speed/Velocious; it's just the dummy prize that people not on Bullwhip/Twilight/BB have to settle for.

Why do you need a 7% haste belt on DRK? Every combination of haste gear (that doesn't involve stupid **** a Zelus Tiara) on DRK that includes a theoretical 7% haste belt is either over the cap or 1% below it.

Hell if I know. I just know a sh*tload of bitter DRKs that are angry at not being on either Bullwhip or Twilight (although by this point in time, most of them have shifted the griping toward having no crit WS instead)

Not everyone has all the uber maxed Haste gear builds yet, you know.

I really do hope that they leave the BB items in the KS99 fights.

I also hope that they drop KS99 to only require 30 seals instead of 99 of them.

(Edit: it's the last post on the page)

Confirmed the BB items will be in the KS99, as well as the Fafnir/Behemoth/Adamantoise pop items being tradeable.

for all the ppl that ******** about the change, i mean come on do you really like to wake up at 3am in the morning just to claim that dam thing??? or do u prefer to have a trig and just pop it anytime u want??

think about it this way~ the time and effort u spend now u will actually get to fight something, compared to before u have all those bots and whatever what not just dominating the hnm scene.

even if abysea is what most majority spend their time on im pretty sure even if u go down the hnm theres still a chance u will and would bump into some competition eventually and u'd see the whole "right i sat here for 3hrs just to get out claim'd" and then few days down the track ur gona b at 3am trying to claim that ****....

As utterly weird as that sounds to me, I guess that means I may as well wait to finish the BB.

If you are planning to camp HNMs for BB, then do it now while you can.

If you're planning to do KS99, I wouldn't do it until the changes.

I for one welcome the change, though 6 years too late. While I think a ksnm 99 is a bit extreme It is still a far better solution than waiting for one pop a day that is hopefully in your time zone.

Also, think about it this way. If you are willing to pay for the item you now have an opportunity to buy from any ls that has a stack of 99 seals laying around vs. trying to negotiate a buy from an ls that might or might not get the claim. Not to mention somone else out bidding you.....

Ever since the annoucement, my friend decided he wanted his belt now instead of after the change. Its been relatively painless process. He camped Behemoth for 2 days, before we caught a group wipeing to KB and we took it and killed. Then he camped Fafnir for 3 days where we joined up with some people and Nid popped. All thats left is the turtle.

I think the change will be better in the long run for it, but currently its not to terrible or maybe we are just really lucky.

It's something I highly suspect they're doing based on the fact that they're nerfing the drop rates on the NQ/HQ. I don't know why they'd do that if they weren't also going to nerf the drop rate on the KS99, because it seemed like they want to force you to get the items off the HQs.

Just like everyone "Suspected" that black mage would get an update after the epic whm and mediocre red mage update for roughly a year?

From epic WHM update, to mediocre RDM update... to nonexistent BLM update.

Just as planned?

IT seems SE will draw ppl back to KS99's and ground kings. Making the pop item sellable means it will attract others to KS99 aswell, as that item will probably be worth some decent gill. Means if you have 1M (give or take some and mob dependant) you can just buy a pop item. Meaning you can easily make a king pop and chances at BB items, Dring, Nhead etc.

This is win all over and the perfect cure to KS99's and ground kings aswell as introducing a new way for players to make gil from the masses of seals some still have around.

I like how people reacted to the whole idea of changing HNM pops:

SE: HNMs will now be popped with triggers that drop from KS99!

Players: WAAAAAH worst update ever!

SE: ...but they'll be tradable!

Players: YAAAAAY best update ever!

The playerbase always likes to jump to conclusions, and really we should all have faith in the dev team until they give us a solid reason not to. Some of the things that popped up in this thread were silly. The only facts we were given were in the OP but still many ppl started questioning whether BB items would be removed from KS99 run even when there was no mention of that anywhere.
