I'm...I'm not sure how this works. Didn't a lot of those job traits already get bonuses through gear, magic, and/or job abilities?

While boost from gear stacked on top of job traits before, it sounds like they are changing the way they stack. It sounds like certain gear, magic and/or JAs will be able to boost, say, Critical Hit Rate I to Critical Hit Rate II.

This could mean that certain equipment, magic and JAs will not stack. For example, if two different pieces of gear both boost the tier of Critical Hit Rate job trait, but there is only one more tier beyond what you're already getting natively from your main job, you would get the same benefit from just equipping one of those pieces of equipment.

But it's too early to say. We're still at the speculation stage since we only have the update notes to work off of.

From one of the DAT miners at BG.

Need to post this at the other forums so all the paranoia stops, it's getting ridiculous.

Holy crap! Somebody actually listens over there at SE. These were minor points I (and I'm sure at least 1 person in Japan) brought up. I wondered if when the old dev team left if they told the new team the secret of Almighty Apkallu. And Rahu was a double NM, even though most people probably never fought the MMM NM (of course, there's some Vermin NMs in there that no one in their right mind would fight, though the rarest NMs in all FFXI seem to the the crafting maze NMs).

I"m guessing from the description of the genbu scrap, suzaku scrap, etc, you can probably get more than 1 scrap from a synergy. the description says its a piece of the seal of genbu, etc..

so you might be able to do multiple synergies w/ it.

same for the tatters. they a pieces of the whole.

Actually, I see a much greater connection between the stats on those gloves and the Taru than I do with FFXI and... well, anything in that wikipedia link.

That's when the update ends. 4 hours after that, the emergency extended maintenance will end, and you will be able to log in.

I have Rank 10 in all 3 nations so it looks like I might be changing my allegiance from Windurst to San d'oria or perhaps Bastok in the future. Whichever is the most efficient for Outpost warps, Aht Urghan teleport, Abyssea.

I just hope I have most if not all of the outpost warps in the other nations especially the ones near the starter towns.

Sounds like the 100-version of alexandrite. Hopefully chariot bosses drop this now, with improved droprate on pouches from NMs and alexandrites from regular mobs (not just archaics)

WTF is this ? Every other nation has a Abyssea npc right outside their moghouse, windy people have to travel across 3 damn zones to even make this practical. And no, exiting Windurst Walls is not the quickest way to get to Heavens Tower.

The way I read it is that they are making them work like haste does; which is to say attributing max caps for gear/ JAs/ spells
