The profits from Zam.com that are not rolled directly back into Zam.com will go to the investors who own the parent company. The same goes for the profits from all the other companies they hold. From what I can tell, IGE is a very profitable company, so I don't see why any money from Zam.com will end up being spent at IGE. But it will certainly end up in the pockets of the investors who bought both companies. That's just economics.
So what it boils down to is this: If I maintain my premium status, helping zam.com be profitable, that is helping the parent company gain new investors. These investors care nothing about gaming, they only care about increasing their wealth, which I have no complaint in and of itself. What I have a problem with is the thought I would be helping prop up this parent company.
You have answered my question, but I have to admit, the answer is not entirely to my liking.
Edit: I am trying not to make a knee-jerk reaction here Allakhazam, but I do have to say that I am deeply disappointed in this move. I am certain you were expecting a different response from the community over this merger, but all I can do is sigh and shake my head. In the barrage of posts accusing you of selling out, please keep in mind it is only because we all loved this site for one reason or another. We would not feel so vehemently about this news otherwise. The more I hear, the more I am coming to the conclusion that this site is no longer one I am interested in financially supporting.
