I'm actually contemplating whether or not I should make a return. The $20 Vana'Diel 2007 collection looks quite intriguing considering I had the crappy PS2 version. Just a quick question, how's the server economy currently running? Is it still omfg200yearzjust2getahawtitem because the inflation is so high?

I think our economy is okay. You can check it out on ffxiah.com. There are certain items overrun by RMTs, but SE is definitely putting the pressure on those groups. Dude, you should, like totally, come back!

Just wondering, after 2 years of laying off this game, are any of my old friends still around? I miss you guys. :(

What you say !!

Ryotu and I are still around on the MMO scene, albeit not in FFXI. I am tempted to drag Nemy back in for another spin for nostalgia's sake someday, but the prospect of starting from level 1 again is daunting!

The important question however, do you still smell FRESH?

Goodness sake! My old British buddies from one of my first Linkshells! I've missed you chaps. I remember you two and Nemy, but happen to have forgotten the names of those other 2 guys in our LS :(. I've tried the 10 day WoW trial, just really not up to my likings. And yes, of course, I always smell so fresh and so clean!

Dude if you decide to come back, I must say the content is SOOO much more, and with the Empress Band you can lvl up even quicker. And I think you should look into the research about that 3.99 FFXI booster pack or something whatever they were talking about. But yeah $20.00 for the ENTIRE set? DAMN XD

Paid 49.99 For FFXI + ROZ
Paid 29.99 For CoP
Paid 29.99 For ToAU (Not including shipping from the Spoony Bard) LAWL

BLAH. Go for it. What cha got to lose?!

I still can't believe this was 4 years ago when I was 14 years old. I miss the good old days. :(
I finally did make a return, but sadly my friends list never has any of my old buddies online. I miss you guys.
If any of you are still around, be sure to add me to your friends list if you might have deleted me. :)

Hey, I'm only 3.5 years late in fulfilling the request! >.>; Sorry, I only read and post on these forums sporadically. And Miles, if you ever do come by and read this... I would just like to say I miss you guys! :D

PS: Watusa, you were 14? Not only do you make me feel old, this also brings that whole pants fiasco to a whole new disturbing level... :Da

Oh, and here's the next screenshot in my folder which has Watusa in the background...

It looks like some of your LS friends are there too, so I'll post it too, in case it jogs some old memories for you. :)

Awesome pics! Thanks for posting them Kysha. Actually makes me sad looking at them and remembering how fun and new to me FFXI was back then. :(

Yes, it makes me sad (?) too, or rather, very nostalgic of my FFXI time with my closest friends. They've all either quit or basically branched out with their own FFXI journey. (Actually it has alot to do with my playtime changes after I got a job.)

But anyway, it's my philosophy that life moves on.

Anytime I find myself being sad missing something, I think that instead of being sad, I should celebrate those memories instead and be glad that they've actually happened.

Like, my FFXI life now is really different from when it began. It's not the same but in it's own way, it's still fun. That's why I'm still playing. IMO, players who return to FFXI shouldn't be looking out to relive the good old days because really, they're already gone. A new journey awaits.

I think so, anyway. :)

You're right. Even after coming back, I noticed nothing was the same anymore, but I am still having fun and going through adventures. I loved the closeness everyone had in the Dunes with 500 people there partying at once and everyone chatting through /sh. Now, there's maybe 50-60 people on prime time. It sucks that everyone has already become acquainted with eachother and has reached high levels, doesn't give you as much opportunity to experience new adventures with people you just met at low levels and make tons of friendships with. Either way, I'm sticking to this game. I've quit 2 times already, but now I'm back for good.

By the way, does anyone know how to come in contact with Tenmiles through instant messenger devices, emails, anything like that? If any of you do still talk to him, be sure to tell him "Watusa wants to know how many miles is it today?" :)

It's too bad that I probably won't be able to see you online much (due to the timezones and all). It would be pretty cool... like the thread title says.

As for Tenmiles. I don't have a way to tell you how to get in touch with him, sorry!

I myself haven't seen him in a while, but I figure he'll drop by when he's so inclined. I could probably get a message to him if I tried hard enough, but that seems a little too forced for my liking, so... I'll just have to say that I will definitely tell him that whenever I see him next! (It might be days, months, years even, though...) I hope you understand!
