Aion Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary

Aion will be celebrating its 5th anniversary on September 22nd, and players can celebrate with events in-game as well as with a weekly Twitter giveaway!

Aion: "Steel Cavalry" Content Expansion

NCSoft has finally released its long-awaited content patch for Aion called Steel Cavalry. By fortune of a technological breakthrough, a new class has stormed into the game called the Aethertech. Piloting large mechanical mounts, these walking metal warriors impose their will at almost any range—and that's just the new class.

Aion: Steel Cavalry to Launch January 29

NCSOFT®, the world’s premier publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), announced today Aion: Steel Cavalry, the latest in its line of free expansions for the game, will become available to players Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Steel Cavalry brings the arrival of the Aethertech class, two exciting instances, skills, balances and overall improvements to the game.
 
Along with discovering that the cavalry has arrived, with the Aethertech class leading the charge, players will see that the battlefield has extended into The Illuminary Obelisk and Iron Wall Warfront, two new instances to challenge and reward players.

Aion: Steel Calvary & Aethertech Class Announced

This afternoon, NCSoft announced the next free Aion expansion, titled Steel Calvary. It will feature a new class called the Aethertech and two new warfronts, and is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2014.

Aion Celebrates Four Years!

This month marks four years since NCSoft introduced Aion to the west and players will be treated to a multitude of events both in and out of game. Specific activities include:

  • Alchemy Event (September 4 – 18): Unlock special chests throughout the world with keys obtained from daily quests and by combining Alchemic Essences with Lead Fragments. There are tons of great rewards available in the chests so make the most of this event every day.
  • Leave Your Legacy (September 11 – 25): Aethertech Players are once again given the chance to leave their mark in Aion forever. Leave Your Legacy allows players to submit their very own design for an Aethertech Key & Mecha. One design will be chosen and created for the new Aethertech class coming when Aion 4.5 launches in North America.
  • Deava’s Day Event (September 18 – October 2): A variety of celebration activities that include special anniversary cake buffs, quests rewarding players with Deava Wings, challenges that enable players to earn golden feathers to purchase rewards, and a hide-and-seek game that rewards players for finding mini-anniversary cakes around the world.
  • Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19): Dress your character in the latest designer North American exclusive Pirate gear in observance of the national Talk Like a Pirate Day and participate in various themed activities.
  • In-game GM Events: NCSOFT GMs will be making their way into the game to host a variety of activities and play mini-games designed to bring players together and handsomely reward them for their efforts.

Aion Player Created Weapon Skins Now Available.

Two new world exlusive items have come to Aion that were, in fact, created by some of Aion's very own players. These two new weapon skins look visually stunning and are sure to make your new Gunslinger or Songweaver stand out among the crowd.

Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal Goes Live

The highly anticipated Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal update is officially live and with it comes a plethora of exciting changes for veteran players and newcomers alike. Changes include two additional classes, additional abilities, an increased level cap, and more.

Aion 4.0's Update Adds New Skills

Well it ain't the Gunner class reveal, but Aion is getting more content teased out, with a showcasing of its new skills being changed and, potentially, removed. They have displayed new skills for Katalam, the Raid vs Raid skirmishes, and three new Charged skills. Get excited!

It feels like Aion 3.5 just hit live servers last month, doesn't it? Oh wait, that's because it did. But that's not stopping NCSoft from talking about their plans for the upcoming 4.0 update. Yesterday, they dropped a preview video of the all-new Bard class!

Aion 3.0 Test Server Available

The cool content teased for Aion 3.0 by this trailer back in May is getting prepped for launch, and if you want to take a shot, the test servers are live and available right behind the link. Two new territories, level cap raised to 60, a housing system, and six new instances await behind the link.
