Category:Avatar (LoN Card Type)
Each deck you construct to play Legends of Norrath will contain one avatar card. Your avatar essentially represents you as a player for that particular game and determines how you will play your deck, what abilities you can choose, what items you can equip and sometimes even what units you will employ.
Basics
Your avatar will be of a certain archetype which you can choose in your avatar creation. These archetypes include Fighter, Mage, Priest and Scout.
A Custom Avatar
This avatar is a Fighter, as indicated by the red background that appears behind the stats and picture. A Mage avatar would appear blue, A Scout avatar green, and a Priest would show yellow. Each player brings only one avatar onto the playmat when the game begins. If you destroy your opponent's avatar the game is over and you win. Likewise, if your avatar is destroyed, you lose and the game ends.
A Defeated Avatar
Most avatars also have special activated effects that allow you to perform beneficial actions to your own hand or deal devastating blows to your opponent.
A Froglok Priest Avatar
For example, when you exert this Priest avatar you can heal all the damage that has been dealt to one of your units, which will potentially prevent it from being taken out of the game in an upcoming round.
Tips
- When choosing abilities, choose carefully so that they work well with your avatar and the overall theme of your deck.
- It may benefit you to choose items with defense or the ability to heal when you are playing with an avatar with low health or defense strength.
