I play RNG mostly and was knocking down a mission recently in a party which also included a DRG. Was my first experience with Angon, which I knew nothing about prior. Long story short: sure made my Sidewinders and Barrages look a whole lot more impressive! Was using arrows at the time, but my question is: if I hit a mob with acid bolts, does my bolt's Defense Down effect stack with a Dragoon's Argon effect on a mob? Does it also stack with, say, Dia?
If so, that's gonna make for some very intriguing possibilities...
UPDATE:
Did some research on Wiki. Apparently Argon doesn't stack with, but overwrites an acid bolt's defense down effect (*cry*). Man ...that would've been sweet.
Does apparently stack with Dia though.
Leaving this post up, as I think it would be good reference information on the subject.

I got the ability with 3 merits and it appears in my job ability list as you would expect, however, I can't seem to use it. Please help . Thanks

Can also be bought from NPC Hagakoff, Aht Urhgan Whitegate at (K-10), for 23,661 gil per stack of 99 (go NPC!!!).

You have to purchase a stack of Angon to be able to use the ability. Should be in the AH under Weapons > Ammo & Misc. I think a stack on Lakshmi goes for about 40k.

anyone knows if Angon DEF lowering would stack with DRG 2h jump??

Angons are a very nifty little tool we can use now. A throwing spear that is hurled at an enemy to reduce its Defense for a period of time(30 seconds with no extra merits) I've heard the DEF. Down is between 20-25%, not exactly sure which, but either way, its a very nice thing to have for HNMs or big events, or even for XP, with a 3 minute recast, you can use one about every other creature, usually best suited for use on weapon skills, but thats up to the user. Hope this was helpful, And man, are these worth it

-20% def on mob, seems like it can't miss unless the mob has blink/utsusemi up or someone already did a def down move.
im not a 75 nor close to it, but from what i gather you use your ability and it expends one angon every 3 minutes right? now my question is can you save the item and build up an inventory so you can use them multiple times in a row, or do they come out as r/x and you have to throw it b4 you can reuse your ability?
