A Lyre is a ten string harp. (you know the really big ones used in concerts?) So tecincally, it should only be used by Galka and Elvaan... maybe a Hume. But not a Mithra or Tarutaru, hehe
But anyway,
Is the Haste+ for BRD haste song? or WHM Haste spell?

I would have just assumed it is +2% haste.. like all the other +haste gear, that it would just lower your recasts and weapon delay by 2% while its equiped.
Or is this something special?

The previous post didn't have the information right? i'm not sure why i've seen so many different numbers on this subject. (stabs foot on the subject of duration at the moment)
I was in an alliance wipe in sky on MG (embaressing yes but it happens when blm use thunder instead of thundaga) and the bards in each party hit up a hymnus since we only had one WHM and it isn't worth waiting an hour when MG is sitting in her little room. The bards and party members of the other parties reported a 1,200 xp loss from the hymnuses. Me and mine lost 1000 xp. We're all level 75. I don't have any information on weakness time right now but if there's a difference it certianly isn't drastic.
If you are on Unicorn, ask Drebian about it if you doubt me, feel free to shout, "Anybody know RENEIR??" if you want.

Okay since little info on this instrument is posted I thought I would help out. When I woke up today I purchased one for 2mil for a BRD in LS that has been saving up KS to do the fight. He was still asleep so I asked another BRD in LS to come with me to test the instrument.
I switched to my 54DRK and we headed to Garlaige with a 75WHM (With R3) and a 73BRD. Without instrument, Hymnus lasted 2min and I lost 640 exp. With instrument, Hymnus lasted 2:23 and I lost 640 exp. With R3 I lost ~150exp.
Now with that being said, I'm not sure if this instrument is worth saving up for money or seals. Hope this info helped ^^

well, by the name i would say that it would most likely be a "lyre" which is a type of string instrument ^_^ its a string instrument dealing with the song "Goddess' Hymnus"
(angel...goddess.. makes sense) ^_^
"Hymnus + 2" ... maybe instead of giving you a "reraise-ra" effect, it gives you a "reraise-ra 3" effect, essentially making this one of the more powerful instruments available ^_^

its still reraise 1 for the party only -200 xp lose for the effect of reraise if that.
its still better to have rr2 hairpin so stop being cheap.

A lyre is certainly a type of harp, so methinks this may be a new BRD instrument.
What type of item is this?
