Why is it that every youngster these days is so devoid of a vocabulary that when they cannot think of a proper descriptive term to use, they default to 'gay'.
Whether you realize it or not, that is overt homophobia... most employers (from fear of descrimination suits) would fire your *** if they were aware you typed that comment from at work.. so a bit of friendy advice is to buy a thesaurus and learn a few more words.
Gay means:
1. happy or jolly (the old definition) 2. homosexual (the new definition)
When used in any other context your reader will take it to mean "I'm so fricking clueless, culturally ignorant, and intellectually uninspired that I will use an exclusionary term instead of a term that actually conveys the meaning I intended".
FYI... 'lame', 'cheesy', 'sucky', 'weak'... any of those likely would have conveyed the meaning that you likely intended.
What possible meaning is there, other than the ones listed above, as well as the derogatory use?
You're not even fooling yourself. There isn't 'another' meaning.
I'm not gay myself, but am just amazed how so many people pull out a hurtful word like that when they are too clueless to use a thesaurus to find an appropriate word that actually does indeed convey the meaning they intend.
Excuse the exaggeration and late reply (seeing how it's dated a while back) but wow, Besides the first comment about personal preferance :P... what did any of the extra bs'ing have to do with this item.
