Do these sell well? I can't find anything else to get me past 60. Venom potions don't work so well yet and I'm not leveling Bonecraft for Sleep Bolt Heads.
the level that these cap at is the maximun skill level you can get from recipe. These can be made at 58 alchemy and 8 smithing if youve passed the cap test for both. they do not get used on every hit they are a random useage item in combat
Please guys help me to understand somethin.... Im a lvl 61 alchemist with a smithing skill of 14 and I successfully made 99 batteries with this recipe... how is this possible at my smithing level? I didnt even gain skill though I did synth it on firesday facing NE (Fire). Call me crazy but I wasnt aware this was possible whatsoever.
I belive that this recipe is only a smithing level of 15-18 because of the tin smithing component. Because tin-making is a lvl 15 smithing synth using components run only about 5 pnts higher the 56 smithing cap is impossibly high.
Well, this is my exp on sync. on something that need 2 craft skills.
if one of the craft skill already capped/passed over, while the other skil is not... u can still make the sync work... and u will also gain skill on 'the other' craft skill (the low/not capped).
if one of the skill is too low lv u might fail the sync. as for this case, u have both skill off 4-5 lv. til capped. so.. I would said keep making these u will see that both skill will gain some point up!!
My question is why thunder, water, and wind... Why no weapons that use fire enchantment, or Ice and such? Or better yet, SE making these weapons only require that you have the item equipped and not use one up every successful hit! I would think that would be more worthwhile than having to spend gazillions of gil just to buy them...sadly my opinions really mean nothing in the end...
Is the smithing requirement for this really 56? With only tin ingots, it seems that is too high. If anyone has had experience crafting these, I'd like to know what the smithing requirement really is. thanks
I just would hope some of u high level crafters would start cooking some up , I've looked in Windy, Sandy, Basky, and Jueno, and found none avaible in stacks of 99, You make um, I'll buy um, Good for those tough fights.

ive heard that all these things (wind fans, batteries, hydro pumps) can add up to insane amounts of dmg but liek mentioned b4, they're way overpriced and in very short supply
Dragoon is a useless job. Spark crap is for a dragoon. Spark crap is therefor useless.
A useless item for a useless job.
Dragoon is useless huh... they could use something extra to make them more interesting to play but they're far from useless. Ever played one, or any other job to a high (63+) level, or tried the item(s) in question? No? In conclusion: A useless post.
Looks like some noob shooting off his mouth (or text...). Stupid people should have their posting rights revolked.
Dragoons are consistent damage dealers. They may not have the impressive bursts of damage like: "OMG I just hit this monster for 500+!" or anything, but their high accuracy combined with the high damage of polearms makes them a useful member of any party. Plus their pets aren't half bad, you can always use and extra meleer.
Heh, I love it. I was running around with a Spark Bilbo as a blm the other day. Just one question: How the heck am I hitting consistantly (on ep-dc) when I have NO sword skill? Does dex account for that much of accuracy? I thought skill played a larger part.
Edit: A bit of experamentation between staff and "Small Sword" has me hitting more consistantly with the sword than the staff. Not extensive testing, mind you, but three or four fights against DC with each weapon...
Batteries are stackable up to 99. You equip them in your ammo slot, and they are used for any weapon that says "Additional effect w/ Battery equipped:". This means, that every time the Additional Effect activates, one battery is consumed. The more powerful batteries last through multiple uses, depending on which you use, but they also hold a higher level requirement to equip them.
so the three kinds of batterry only works on the spark weapons right ? and the other water and hydro uses different items right ? does these batteries works only on those weapons that have ADd effect damage ?
I think that the Battery activates a special ability. It does an amount of lightning damage depending on what type of battery it is (hence the higher-level batteries have greater effects) but you have to have a spark weapon ("Spark Dagger" for example) equipped to activate the effect. It's the same as casting Enthunder.
The Hydro weapons and the Water Barrels are the same, with an Enwater effect.
This is rather dissapointing, Batteries, the level 10 variety are not listed on the bastok AH, for what reason i do not know.. Mega batteries which require level 50 are listed.. what is up with that.. would be nice to know where to get some of these at lower levels
Being a DRG/WAR, I can't put anything in my ammo slot anyway soooo. At lvl 15 and a spark spear +1 with battery I can do some serious damage. 40 for base + 25 for additional = 65. When timed with a jump + 40 it comes to 105 hp of damage for a lvl 15 pc. I'm sold on the spark spear. BTW, it has the same damage as the standard spear for the level so I don't think I lost anything by buying a spark spear.
well if you were a dragoon-you'd know that you have slim to nil when it comes to equiping ranged weapon s (unless your a fisherman) and that many polearms make use of the spark feature-therfore making it much more useful
Battery is "ammo" for certain equipment that uses it.
The spark biblo as an example, deals an additional 25 electrical damage per battery used, on top of the regular damage you do with the sword. Hence, pretty powerful stuff, but way in short supply and overpriced.
The going rumor is that people using battery powered equipment do A LOT of damage and that is probably the reason for the high cost of a stack of batteries. Its no different than a stack of bullets costing a lot.
