I completed this quest and got the upgraded sword and the pond in gusgen mines after speaking to reid. I was attacked by one of the wolves straight after which i killed and then attacked by some type of ghost which killed me. It wasn`t called blind moby. DO I HAVE TO KILL BLIND MOBY. I ask this because i`ve read that i do, but i`ve got the upgraded sword anyway. Advice would be appreciated. :)

Chances are you've found out already, but for those who are new DRKs, no, you don't have to fight Blind Moby, just trade Chaosbringer to the unidentified point at the pond and watch the Cut scene with Zeid.

this is an awesome sword, and should have time taken to get it. It is so useful u wont have to buy another great sword for a while :). i suggest doing the quest, which is only to kill another 100 enemies, then go to gusgen and to the pond (one on the right of the map)

Yes yes yes. This sword will last you until you're high enough level to equip the Braveheart (another wonderful sword that will last you several levels). The quest to get it is really easy too, it just takes a little while. Every DRK should be using this sword at low levels.

This is an AWESOME weapon for the low levels, you can use this to about level 10 before you have to upgrade, i didnt feel like doing the quest for it after the DRK quest so i simply bought it from the AH in sandy, Bahamut server for a mere 1.5k not a bad price if i do say so myself.

stupid me drop the weapon right after i can become a dark knight(AT LAST)....well, it doesn't gives too good of a damages for a dark knight anyways....esbecially when u're a tarutaru low hitpoint and low defense really hurt:(
however, i would really like to complete the quest, so is there anyway i can get another chaosbringer?
(btw, killing 100 rabbits' already pain in d ***, now 200!? it's pretty challenging when there's quite a few players farming for hide...)

go back to palborough and ride the ferry, when you hop off you'll receive another chaosbringer.
also.. this is the best weapon for a dark for a long while. i'm level 13 drk and this is still my best weapon. my legionaires scythe is 10-15 less attack than my deathbringer.
also i think its only 100 more you have to kill.

I've did this quest twice and didn't get DeathBrigner =( I know i killed 100+ at Sgusta the first time and then went to Gusgen pond. Nothing happened. THen i kill another 100 at Zuehen mines and went to Gusgen pond. Nothing happened again!!!! Grrr. I've used my level 32 DRK/THF to do this quest. So wat am i doing wrong? Any help would be great. Thanks in Advance.
there are TWO ponds in gusgen. are you positive you are at the right one?

As was stated, just talk to Gumbah after you get chaosbringer, and you will get this quest.
all you have to do is kill another 100 enemies w/ Chaosbringer. It's basically repeating the DRK quest. However, once you are done, go to Gusgen Mines and head to pond where you have to kill Blind Moby (To the Forsaken Mines, Bastok Mission 7 or 8). Target the ???? and trade Chaosbringer to it. you'll get a cutscene and Deathbringer.
To get the pond, enter Gusgen, take the first right, then left, then right, then right again.

I got this from another site so not sure of accuracy but I am gonna try it!
"This is a Dark Knight Quest to obtain a VERY strong Lv5 Sword that can be great for flying through the low levels.
NPC that initiates it: Gumbah
After you have obtained the Dark Knight job, go back to Gumbah and talk to him again. (It doesn't matter what class you are when you speak to him) He will give you a letter from Zeid. The letter will tell you to make your sword shine with an even deeper darkness, then to meet him in the damned mines and dip your sword in the waters that spawn the wretched beast.
Equip the Doombringer you obtained in the original Dark Knight quest and kill 200 monsters (low level newbie monsters work great, since the Doom Bringer is so weak). Go to the Gusgen Mines located in the far Eastern section of the Konschtat Highlands. (I'll edit this post with a map coordinate later) Once you're inside Gusgen follow the tunnels and take nothing but right turns. You'll come to an open area with a pool in the back and a ??? spot. Trade the Chaos Bringer to the ??? spot. Zeid will appear and trade your Doom Bringer for the Death Bringer."

He got to 255 because the database is probably set up with an 8 bit integer field (allows values of 0-255) for storing your level, and the 'update my character' script doesn't do sanity checking before accepting the value (by making sure you are punching in 75 or less).
He is NOT level 255... nor does he have 100 in all guilds. :P
He found a very minor site glitch.

I heard you need to kill 100 enemies with Chaos after you get DRK. Equip your job as DRK for the kill, and bring the Chaosbringer to some pool, but no idea what pool.

Do you kill it with your DRK or you can do the same thing to DRK quest just kill 100 with war then go to Gusgen?

Even though he's talking about the quest to obtain this.. during which, WAR CAN equip the Chaosbringer needed to slay 100 enemies, then trade in for this sword.
