Drachen Finger Gauntlets  

I got these just a few days, maybe a week ago? Anyway it was rather simple. I didn't have the tree coffer, so i got some help from a 75 smn friend of mine, (Thanks Smeagle, you rock! =p) We spent about maybe an hour and a half to two hours looking for the key. Started out on Bark Spiders, to little avail, and moved on to robber Crabs. This was rather taunting since on the way to the crabs, we dropped right on top of the coffer chest -.o After a while we began to get agervated with the lack of drop =p Smn even used a Lucky Egg that we had gotten, no good. So he invited a thief friend of his to come and help out. lol As soon as the thf spawned into the tree and was in our party, smn and I got it. He didnt even make it to camp. Ran back to where we fell on the chest, traded my newly aquired key, and got me sme old guantlets =p After that rallied up some people from my LS, and we headed to Castle Zvhal to take on Dark Spark. I believe we killed him in like, 8 seconds? We all got tp off of demons, and ws'ed on him for some massive damage lol.

Anyway, I wish i would have read that I only neded to START this quest to open coffers for AF armor. Because the whole point of toiling to do it at 54 was so I could go get my Drachen Greaves, which I already had the key for. Amyway, I now have all my AF peices except for my Drachen Mail. Looks like i'll be bugging some people for a cauldron key really soon =p

someone was telling me there is a way to upgrade the AF gear. does anybody know anything about this?

Although Boyahda is pretty big I found the coffer chest with only having to sneak once and that was to get back to the exit to pass some Knight Crawlers. Aggro is pretty easy to avoid in this place if you keep your eyes peeled.

Dark Spark is a joke too. He berserk's and you'll be able to Penta Thrust for 1500. Two of these and hitting for 120 each hit plus about 25-50 hits from my wyvern and he goes down fast. My dmg was pretty bad on this guy that I ended up tanking him the whole fight.

the coffer to the drachen finger gauntlets can be found in The Boyahda Tree.


The key drops off many common mobs. Spiders, Robber Crabs ( most common IMHO). Mobs that you will be gaining Levels off of at this level :D.
Once you open the coffer ( for a map of the locations visit this addres

Next go to the Tenshodo HQ in Lower Jeuno talk to the mithra in he middle of the room. She will offer you something for 1000 gil, buy it and go to Port Jeuno.

Outside of the magic shop there will be a box with a ??? on it. Double click the box for a cinematic.

Head to Castle Zvhal Baileys in Xarcabard ( go to your home nation and do a supply trip to Xarcabard so you can teleport home afterwards )

you will need a whm for Sneak + Invis or a brave paladin whos not afraid to chain every mob all the way to the entrance of the castle O_o.
Once in the castle you will need Sneak+Invis to pass all the demons and floating eyes.
follow the path straight and you will reach a gate with 4 torches.

Touch 1 of the torches ( remember which) to begin a battle with DARK SPARK ( cute lil U&^*@%*##)
hes not difficult at all. ( note: AVOID THE SIDES, you will link every demon on the bottom level and be staring at a good 20 or so demons...)
a decent tank, whm, and 2 heavy meelee damagers ( dark knight, dragoon, samurai) will be good here. save up all yoru tp from the demons you do fight for this battle.
kill him, check the torch, go back to the ??? box and you got your AF gauntlets. :D enjoy
