I'm not the one who rated you down, as like you said you're guessing and not stating for fact, but it is sorta worth noting that I did post the exact correct answer directly from SE's mouths in the post right before yours. Which is that Avatar: Enmity -2 means -2 FOR THE AVATAR.
FFXI Stratics: One of the biggest debates in the summoner community deals with the stat found on the artifact armor "avatar: enmity: -". Who receives this effect?
Sage Sundi: The enmity status is related to the avatar, not to the summoner. It's useful to use "avatar: enmity+" when you want your avatar to keep the hate.
Players often get confused about what enmity is and why the Arfifact set 1 has both player and avatar enmity. Basically, enmity is aggro. If the armour is just 'Enmity -(a number)', then that negative enmity gives the summoner less aggro from a monster in battle. However, if the armour is 'Avatar: Enmity (- a number)' then that negative enmity gives the avatar less aggro. Ideally when in a party you want both the summoner and avatar to have less aggro, but when solo you need the aggro on the avatar to be more positive than on the summoner, so the monster does not ignore the avatar and hit on the summoner.
If you are still confused, then just remember, mages and avatars need negative enmity (-), except when soloing, then avatars do not need any negative enmity.
You are wrong im sad to say :"( doesnt take much to figure it out if it has the word avatar infront of it then obviously its for your avatar not smn IT HAS TO SAY enmity -2 for it to effect the smn, and Avatar: Enmity -2 to effect the avatars enmity im sorry but rate down :"(
0.o.... you couldnt pay me 1bil gil to solo in this getup = death, considering youll get more hate, in a pt sure you want your tank to keep hate not your avatar but when solo'ing your avatar is your tank so the more hate it can keep the less you have to worry about casting cure or buffs or using a BP and getting beat on. Whenever you see Avatar: AUTOMATICALLY realize this does effect the avatar not the smn in anyway for it to effect the player it will just say Enmity -2/+1 or Critical Hit rate 15% for avatar Avatar: Enmity +1/-2 or Avatar: Critical Hit rate 6%, hope that helps in the slightest.
Yes it does, but you are suprise unless you explain it as most people skim read and assume random attacks are converted into mp. Just wanted to make it clear. Cause I myself did the same. ><
Edit: the wording and forwardness of my original post is wrong as you are correct there - sorry about that ^^
Of course it leaves out the most important part when it actually converts dmg into mp. The situation is when the monster cast the same element as the avatar. EX. Gazer cast Stonega on Titan. Ghast cast fire on Ifrit. That is when it converts the damage of that spell into MP. After finding this out, these once thought great gloves kinda suck now.
