That 2004 sale was for 59,634,649 ... I could have used that much gil back then. A second pair was sold for 1 gil about 3 years later.
When you see expensive items being sold for 1 gil at the auction house, it's usually someone just selling to themselves or their mule. That's why I didn't count it as an actual sale :)
I saw this in the ah 0 have been sold. I thought they looked cool and stuff. But didn't know they dropped off a huge monster. I havn't even heard a shout for these I guess there worth as much as K-club maybe more honestly but that how little I think of K club lol.

AstralFlow, an all SMN linkshell that I lead on Ifrit and TheThreeKingdoms (led by Grimblade) teamed together to take Tiamat down for NA's first time on Ifrit. Alliance consisted of 1 BRD, 1 RDM and 4 SMN per party. Separate alliance was made to control any pops. The very next pop...we did it yet again! Dragon Heart & Talon dropped the first run. Second run Behemoth Hide, Dragon Heart, and Dragon Talon dropped. Herald's Gaiters dropped both times ;)

I simply stated that we killed Tiamat for the first time. Yea sure it took the NA's that long on Ifrit. Probably because it's one of the oldest servers. JP's had the dragons on lockdown for as long as everyone could remember until recently. and seriously Fhq, gtfo. just cause I assraped your gilseller post on KI doesn't mean you can't still get over it. gg

well my WHM is coming up on 60..(need to do G-3 >.>; ) but anyway.. Once I hit 70 I want a pair of these, yet.. it's gonna be difficult to get them if they only drop off of Tiamat T_T plus, theres no sales history on AH of them, I bet they'll be the same as strider boots only higher priced -.-. Anyway if SE were to put in another way to get these boots, I'd jump at the chance >.>

Did him with 16 peeps in about an hour. all bst and smn except 2 whms and a brd. Dropped gaiters, kote, and horn. Time before we had alliance of 18 and only got horn lol. heres a pic of our first run with 18ppl. huge pic so beware.
Actually, the max gil is 999,999,999, you can't put items in bazaar for max gil, but you can AH things for that. I'm going to laugh when someone Bazaars an Item worth more than 100mil trying to show off and someone buys it.....
On Caitsith Server In history these boots been up on the AH twice both time by the same person. The funny thing and crazy thing the guy put it up for 100,000,000 and bought it for that price. But to my understanding the highest price of gill in the game goes up to 99,999,999...
uh, no, they've been posted as 100,000,000 gil, and then again as 1 gil... and they bought it off themselves lol

You can list something for 1g, and buy it from yourself for like 100m. AH fee of 100g (in jeuno), AH history will show 100m.

Tiamat has only been beaten a few times on Ramuh... SilentWinds, my LS, took him down Memorial Day weekend check out our site. Got the boots.
We've tried Vrtra twice and I believe we've gotten him/her the furthest of any HNM LS on our server (15%). Where's Nika? We're gonna try a 3rd time soon.

I just got these the other day and did a few quick tests. It doesn't stack with any of the nation aketons, so don't expect to run at 24% down the streets of Bastok ;;
As for the rarity of the drop, this was maybe our 5th successful Tiamat and the first time we got the gaiters. I've only heard of 2 other pairs on Odin (only seen 1), and none have been sold through AH. Still decent odds, but it is offset by the amount of time Tiamat takes to pop and in which timezone she'll pop. The battle took roughly 3.5 hours, and we had TH3 this time.

item(like psychoanima) that paraphrased says something along the lines of "stops a dragon from flying" XD have to trade multiple hippogryph plumes to an NPC to get it tho >.< so not easy to aquire.. perhaps it would be an easier fight tho if there were at least 2 available to the alliance fighting it to get it back down on the ground? does anyone know how many times this thing takes off?

Mistmelt is for Ouryu, who is the dragon you fight in CoP Mission 4-2 in Riverne, Site #B01. Fought this last week and used about 6 mistmelts to beat it. You can't hit it with most attacks while it is in the air. Mistmelt brings it back down.
It's possible it works on other dragons, I suppose, but I have only heard of it being used for Ouryu.

Uh, Tiamat was released after Sleep disbanded >.> No NA on Alexander has touched this yet, but I'll let you know when we try. ^^ And Tiamat takes around 3 hours to kill, with countless adds. Most LSs do this with 30+.
It's interesting how much difference a year makes. When this guy posted that Tiamat takes three hours to kill, he probably honestly thought that. More than a year later, I can't imagine how anyone who didn't wipe and recover multiple times could take more than half as long to beat Tiamat, and most groups would beat her in an hour.

Actually Tiamat doesn't really take around 3 hours to kill or 30+ people. Our best time was 70 mins with around 24 people (avg time probably around 1hr 45 mins). And we've killed it with as few as 20 or 21 I believe.
Granted we have some experience with him, 15 kills or so. First couple were probably with around 28 people and in 2 hours or so

some bsts and summoners from my LS took him down in about 1.5hours with many other bsts and smns from all differ LSes. bst and summoner were only in main alliance and we had many of the high lvl NA LSes to come watch and kill adds which there were barely any and the BSTs could basically handle themselves. This united a lot of the BSTs on asura from JPs n NAs and multiple LSes.

They're like Strider Boots but for mages (well not RDM). And MNK gets it too as if they didn't have enough uber gear they can get already. These would be fun to have for a BLM that camps and solos Aquarius often by kiting it around.

yep i saw xertus and the smn/bst bunch try to take timat out 2nd time they got him to 5 percent hp and wiped for a 3rd time that day was like 9 bsts and 9 smns maybe a couple whms outside alliance i think was crazy just seeing these 9 bst pets and 9 fenrirs charge past u and start attacking and when this dragon flys he looks hella cool xertus angrydog u guys pwn gl guys on next attempt

He's like a nidhogg on steroids. When he fly's he's un touchable, yet he can wing AE you, and fireball spit on you. Be careful! Got the boots drop ^-^

Dramanue... RDMs can get 12% movement speed with the beautiful Crimson Cuisses found here.
Um...we almost beat him several times. Don't see why you think people have to buy from IGE to stand a chance against it.
Don't count on any non JPN players with these for a long time. Even if you can put her down, the cost of these means you would have to put a dent in IGE's gilpile for your server or have some nice friends...real nice.

I'm getting rather edgy seeing all these non-red mage items... Why can't we have +12% movement speed? Whm's and Blm's get some nice gear (ofcourse whm must be a multimillionaire but nonetheless) at 68... Noble's Tunic and Black Cloak... Bards get a nice little Demon's Mask (as well as blm and drk) at 73. Might someone please explain to me the logic of a demon's mask giving +5 singing? High level Red mages *need* JSE... When do we get it? We can't live in our AF forever y'know. Sure, there's Cardinal Vest but that's for like every job (except for just a few). Now I'm sure that other jobs don't get "jse" per se', but atleast they get nice armor past 68. Look at the selection that pld's, war's, and drk's have for instance. Come, rdm's! We must fight the system! Demand some rse!
