The chocolate aint bad. Sells pretty good. I havent been on to check the current prices but i'd say from 3-10k a stack. And good for mages because the less the charisma, the less the hate. So this sucks for brds.
Yeah, annoying that they changed the whole purpose of this food. Although it is good for soloing if you're unable to heal yourself, especially since it's bound to be very cheap now.
i used 3 of them in 1 hour but i died once so id say they only last 30 min now after update. And yes im refering to hobgoblin not goblin. im not sure if my lvl matters i hear some foods have diffrent effects on diffrent lvls... i was a 25whm.. btw since the update most/all?? foods changed so i suggest buying 1 if possible and test before buying a stack.. and please take notes and update us when you have time.. im going to start with sweets and get a list going of new stats...
I am in the habit of buying & eating this all the time. So I bought 40,000 gil worth of Hobgoblin Chocolate before I noticed the update change.
As a Tarutaru WHM with 400 MP, I am spend a lot of MP supporting a party and have greatly appreciated the +5 MP regen on this food.
Now that I have so much of the new hobgolbin chocolate, I can verify that for a lvl 29 BLM & lvl 29 WHM it does the following: Food Lasts: 5 minutes MP Regen: 0 HP Regen while healing: +7 per click Stat Changes: None
So.... What am I to do with 200 Hobgoblin chocolates as a mage? This stuff is now intended to be a "snack food" that you eat right before sitting down and healing, but as a food this can't be eaten when other food effects are running. Warriors don't like to sit down because it removes TP and with this snack food they can't have their regular warrior food. Mages tend to heal enough HP while recovering their MP, so they don't need this either.
If you have eaten another food and the food effect is still active, then you can NOT eat this snack food. Snack foods are considered the same as other foods. Since most warrior types would have eaten their fighting food, they can't eat this until their current food effect has worn off. The result: no one is going to eat this snack food once they understand how it works.
I have noticed that no one on Seraph is making this stuff anymore and that even the sale of Kukuru beans (used in synth) have nearly stopped.
Additional note... an ls friend just used one of these and they said that the effect did not last anywhere near a full hour. Maybe a half hour at best. Was this a fluke, or has anyone else noticed this?
Says "yields 12" under the recepie, but notes say "exceptional yeild 4"... anyone else understand that?
normal quality synths make 12 goblin chocolates, while a HQ makes 4 hobgoblin chocolates. the HQ yields less pieces, but is still a better result.
hobgoblin regens +5MP/tick and lasts 60 minutes (the only food with more is ambrosia - which isn't exactly practical for daily use). goblin regens +2MP and lasts 30 minutes. so regulars give a total of 2 more hours use per synth, HQ gives 3 more MP per tick.
some food boosts MP, INT and/or MND, and has +1-2MP regen, making goblin chocolate a mediocre choice for all but the youngest (or poorest) mage.
hobgoblin is ideal for some situations, though. combine it with dark/pluto staff etc. and even when you can only sneak in very brief kneels, the MP adds up. high base mana is great, but it's useless if you're 81/979 before chain 5. ^^
No, you can only have 1 food and 1 drink buff on you at a time. However, you can remove an unwanted food buff with an "Antacid" (Although I don't see why you would want to...or how you get one ^_^)
whats the differance between goblin and hobgoblin chocolate?
goblin chocolate gives +2 MP regen while healing (and -5 CHR) for 30 minutes. you can buy this at the gobbieshop in jeuno for 300g or cook it yourself.
hobgoblin chocolate is the HQ result of synthing goblin chocolate. it gives +5 MP regen instead of the normal quality's +2 (and -7 CHR), and lasts for an hour.
it's good stuff, but i usually use witch kabobs on my WHM (lose 1 point of regen, but gain other stats).
