I often wondered what the Monster Correlation Effects bit ment but thanks for the Information.
I got this AF easily. The soulflayer (squidface) went down quickly.
However in this fight we had 5 BLU's (mixed lvls 55+)
and a WHM75. All went to plan but he was killed to quickly for Mind Blast. :(

Lets say normaly when your fighting a Mandragoras, there is a 1.2 modifier on all Insect spells spells to land/damage. Your Death scissors would do (mathmumbojumbo)* 1.2, On a Beast though it would only do 1.0. On a Lizard though, it would do .8.
With this hat on, the effect vs plants would be raised to 1.4.
It was said in an interview that it only inceases, not decreases, so vs lizards it would still be .8 and not .6

Right idea, wrong numbers.
Positive correlation adds 0.25 to your fTP modifier, negative adds -0.25. AF Hat increases this by 0.02 (total 0.27). For reference, each correlation merit adds 0.04, meaning that 5 merits in correlation are the same effect as the AF hat, and increase the total bonus wearing the hat and with merits to 0.29.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say it's the wheel of life stuff, i.e. Beasts > Lizards > Insects > Plants > Beasts... as in it will make the paralysis proc more often.
