Does anybody know the tp bonus activates with Chivalry? I'm not too hopeful, but if it did this would make this weapon even better for a paladin solo build.
This has been tested many times and the tp bonus only works for the sword (and only if it is in your main hand, you do not get the bonus from weilding this in the offhand) and not for the spells, so i really dont see how this would be very good for BLU.
He said self SC, which of course means a WS is used, so yes it would help BLU. Most common combos are Savage Blade + Disseverment (Distortion) and Savage Blade + Cannonball (Light), and Savage Blade is helped by this TP bonus quite a bit.
If you manage to gain 200% before your CA recast is up, TP Bonus + Savage Blade will get a massive damage multiplier boost of 3.50, compared to 1.75 for the normal 200%.
Okay, I'm curious. Let's say a Galka Samurai, with full TP building gear, used a martial weapon in his off hand, with a sword in his main. Say a Joyuese with a Martial something. He would in effect, gain TP like no other, and only need to build to 200% to unleash a fully charged Spirits Within. In regard to the Sam AF body, "Occasionally Boosts TP", i'm pretty sure that does the same as these weapons, only "occassionally". Would that Body effect stack with the Martial quality of a weapon? If so, could a Samurai, technically use Spirits Within at 100%, for the full half HP damage?
The reason i say Galka Sam, is because they would do the most damage in a Spirits Within Scenario.
Originally, i dreamed of a Galka Samurai, with a Martial Sword main, and a Kraken club. But unfortunately, Samurai can't use this weapon. Clever SE.
i tried this sword out for a while, but i like joyeuse + hornetneedle or joyeuse + genbu's shield better. if you want to spend the money for this and dont have a joyeuse this might be fairly useful, but i didnt really like it.

You were using Martial + Joyeuse, not Joyeuse + Martial... right?
Martial + Joyeuse is godly... Martial powers up your WSs, and Joyeuse in off-hand speeds up the TP gain. Don't see what's not to like...
Ninja dual wield adds another attack fold to your WS, so your Savage Blade is stronger because of this. The Martial Anelace will buff up your Savage Blade at lower TP as well. I can pull 800-1000 damage Savage Blades on TW-EP mobs my highest being 1150, which is just incredible damage for RDM. Even on DC and EM I was able to get 600-700 damage. Of course, I have a lot of STR gear and +ATK gear I use in order to get these numbers. Martial + Joyeuse is really the best 'reachable' sword combo (excluding Excalibur), its damage is very good if you put the effort to make it so.
I love this sword. It is by far the best weapon in the game for RDMs main hand. Equipping a Joyeuse in the off-hand (if sub NIN) along with this sword means major TP gain.
just bought on Bahamut for 600K... after bouncing between the various other anelaces, Runeblade (BAD idea), and a few others, I think I've finally replaced the Royal Guard's Fleuret that's been hanging off of my hip for FAR too long
If I sub this with my Axe, will my Axe weapon skills be at 200TP when it reads 100TP, or will it only work when I use the sword for my main? Noblesite 63 WAR/NIN Rank 7
300% TP works like 300% TP. According to all of the research done on these weapons, (Albeit not my research, I can't use one yet.) These weapons WILL NOT boost your TP over 300%. Nor will the bonus allow you you use a WS at less then 100%. Basically if you have 200% TP or more, the weapon will act as though you have 300%.
