At goldsmithing 21 i received a skillup in GS desynthing these with lightning.

I thought the new moon was what was good for desynthizing. Like face south with the lowest moon on either darkday or lightning day. I mean everything is rummor I guess, even if it works. Unless SE says it's this way it's still rummor.
I was bored, had some extra cash, so i bought 10 moblin helms. Had moghancement:desynth faint lightning energy, full moon(93%), darksday, facing south (for all you that believe in crafting compasses) got 1 gold ingot out of 10. Goldsmithing is at 30 right now. I think i got HQ1 on 2 or three of the brass ingots, if i saw the animation correctly. Ended up with 5 brass ingots and 1 gold ingot. Not too bad way to make money if you are lucky and have a lot of these things.

I have been desynthing them for a few days now, some where around the number of 30 of these Helms
with a Goldsmithing of 58 and Powerful Lightning from my mog house. out of those I have gotten 16 Gold ingots, every day that I do these I seem to only get the gold on Ice Day.

I desynthed over 40 of these on Full Moon Darksday, Moghancement Desynth. Goldsmithing Skill 50. Didn't even get ONE gold ingot.
Definitely a bummer.

You must have desynthed a moblin mask, not a helm to get glass fibre ^^, NQ is 2, Hq1 is 4, etc. That desynth requires ~20 alchemy.
Desynthing these helms will give brass ingots and gold ingots.

Mined one of these up in Oldton Movalpolos yesterday. Desynthisized into 2 loops of glass fiber (not HQ result) on Watersday with WXC 14% and mog enhancement desynth. My goldsmithing is a few points over 53. Didn't see that result posted so I thought I'd share it.
I know you can mine these out of Movapalos, but anybody have a clue what critters drop these and where?

I mined a Moblin Mail, Moblin Mask, and Moblin Helm all from Oldton Movalpolos...
my goldsmithing is aroun 38. Most of the time you'll get brass ingots. normal dsynth is brass and i think the first 1 or 2 HQs after that are also brass ingots (only 1. if you get 3, then you were dsynthing moblin MAIL). Gold ingots are probably HQ 3 if not 4... i still have trouble figuring out what is what.

Hmm, I've only gotten two HQ desynths on these so far. Usually I'll end up with the Brass Ingot as described, but on the two HQ desynths I got I ended up with a Gold Ingot. My goldsmithing is 24 and I was doing this on a full moon. Needless to say I'm sure I was *extremely* lucky. ^^

First ever desynth on one of these, I got a gold ingot, so I kept trying, obviously.. because gold ingot = 30k. Anyways, I was yielding 3 brass ingots at a time, and that was with a LQ desynth. This was on the morning of firesday.
I got one more gold ingot since, and then i started only yielding 1 brass ingot at a time, even on HQ. wierd...
Maybe there are random timeslices that make it better to desynth? So if you're desynthing these and getting only 1 brass ingot at a time, stop desynthing for the time being, and try again later. If you get multiple brass ingots, then keep desynthing, you'll probably get a gold ingot.

when you got 3 brass ingots, it wasn't the moblin helm that you were de-synthing. it was the moblin mail. HQ1-2 is the same as a regular synth and only HQ3's yield gold ingots. my GS is at 40 and my smithing is at 19. i have noticed that when i have guild support, i tend to HQ more often.

Im guessing that i got HQ1, I would hazard to guess that the next one will be silver or mythril. This was at goldsmith 41 and smith 63.

I attempted a desynth and got....
a Brass Ingot on a HQ desynth. Not sure what level HQ though.
