This is good for skill-ups.
Parry, block, ect... high defence with a lower chance to evade gives a good chance to take less damage & use you other defensive abilities.
Same for the Cavalier's Mantle.

as a pld, i use the cavalier's for the same princaple i would use this one.. lower eve = you get hit more, and especially pre 37 and flash, you're cures are what get you the hate, so if you arn't getting hit, you arn't getting hate.

Don't really know how much damage taken effects the hate of a monster. Most parties i've been in with Nin tanks.(I'm a Pld) the hate the Ninja has is Soft... can easily be taken away. Note the fact that the ninja never has to control the hate for more than a short time before someone else vokes. I know i can't go all out on hate gathering or there is no way the ninja will even be noticed.

Also good for the MNK that wants to work on Gaurding skill. And as a MNK you need lower evasion in order for you to counter attacks.
if you are a pld, and you want constant hate, then there's ur reason ^^
I think taking damage reduces your hate actually... which is why when you get a critical hit, many times the mob will turn to someone else.

Entirely untrue. I'm assuming it's a bug that NIN tanks work, then??? Taking damage reduces the hate the mob has for you. NIN tanks work because once hate is dumped on them, it is difficult for the mob to hit them and reduce hate.
Nin tanks don't work, I've been in tons of pts with nin tanks, a nin tank doesn't work, unless the nin has ******** of money to blow away in his other tools, not utsusemi
