Thoth was the Egyptian god of words and truth, represented by an ibis or an ibis-headed human. He was said to have created words. In some Egyptian mythologies, Ra (the main sun god) played a distant role in the physical universe, with Thoth executing Ra's commands, such as Thoth creating the world at the bidding of Ra. He played an important part in the path to the afterlife for newly departed people, playing a prominent role in the judging of the character of the departed.
OK lol to answer my own question since I finally got a Thoth's wand today....
Yes, the higher level "moon" wands do indeed do more damage than the lower level ones.
Here's how it works:
At full moon, a wand of this type operates as if it has enlight on it. Every hit will do additonal damage and animation. At new moon, that's right, endark.
The amount of damage, as I said above is more the higher level the wand is.
Rabbit Stick (level 5) does 4 enlight/endark. Moonlight Wand (level 15) does 6. ...quite a few wands inbetween here that I don't own... Thoth's Wand (level 55) does 20.
The amount of additional damage is fixed. It is not tied to your int, enhancing magic or anything like that. It doesn't do more damage at 100% full moon vs. less than 100%. If it says full moon, with Thoth's Wand, you get ya 20.
Edit: 1 thing left to test, is whether this 20 enlight damage can get resisted. So far I've only been beatzing weak stuffz in rolanberry. I'll test in the next besieged and post results hehe.
I have the rabbit stick (the level 5 one) and the additonal damage is about 4. Can anyone tell me if the additional damage is more with the high end wands of this type? hehe.
Actually the description says additional damage varies with moon phase.

Adjust the resolution of menus. The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting. If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.
