Honestly.. don't even bother unless you have all 3 at least at 12 for tier 1.. i spent a lot of money learning that lesson.

98 Cooking - 31 Leathercraft - 30 Clothcraft.
It took me over 48 synths to finally HQ this chocolate. I tried different days, different directions, different advanced supports. I spent almost 10k guild points in Terra Crystals.
I finally got it during a New Moon on Firesday facing Northwest and with advanced support in Cooking, of all things.
Frustrating...

HQ'd on my 2nd attempt. 51 Cooking, 1 in both leather and cloth. Made the HQ'd version with advance synth support in clothcraft and faced SE on Watersday
lol the reason is Sinux that most poeple give these as a gift to someone in game they love, and people want to show it off, hence they put it in there bazzar, they'r not intented to be bought, hence the price 99,999,999 Gil like you so rightly siad ^^ hope that clears it up

It's being sold on my server in bazaar's for like 99,999,999 Gil.
Imo thats insane, but then again all prices are screwed on FFXI servers, like for almost all crafts the mats are more exspensive then the end product.
Like Copper ore 1000 Gil in AH at the shop it's like 40 Gil are ppl blind or what rofl

Wow, I got HQ on my very first attempt.
I have Cloth 61, Cooking 60, and Leather 30, so that probably helped, but I was still shocked to see the HQ animation. :o

I succesfully made one finally. And I even signed it for my wife to be ^^. When I finally got an HQ these were my craft skills:
60 cooking, 22 clothcraft, 12 leathercraft.
I'm pretty sure you could HQ about 1/12 with a craft skill of 12 in each of these three.

I just made These. What i did was lv both cloth and leathercraft to lv 10, and my cooking was 68. Since i cook anyway i decided i wanted my name on it so it costed me lil more for the GP's but basicly out off 12 i got 1/12 syth's i did. Costed me 50k for the parchment's, 150k for the heart chocolate, and 1,250 each with good fame in jeuno from a shop in lower jeuno.and costed me 2400GP for crystals. I did'nt do any facny face one-way or the moon or that crazy day of week stuff.lol o-well it was worth it to have my name on it. Hope this helps you out^^

No one i knew had any skills in cooking, and i didn't have alot of money, so i had to settle with giveing my "friend" a normal heart chocolate :(
has anyone figured out the craft levels to HQ this?
i have 96.3 Cooking, 22 Clothcraft, and 1 Leathercraft and cannot HQ.

Based on my experience, and yours, I would say you need to level all three crafts to a high enough level that you have a decent chance of HQ in each craft seperately. It should be possible, but it is going to be a very rare synth without having all three at least at the 1st tier for HQ's. This means roughly a skill of at least 12 in all three to have a slightly better chance at an HQ.
My skills: (I have had no HQ's of the Love chocolate yet)
