this is KINDA useful for a whm, but the drawback is ofcourse the MP hit. Even with the MP hit this ring can be slightly effective. HOWEVER the smart way to use it is to simply take it off when your reduced mp is capped so that you have a bigger mp pool AND more efficient MP at 85% or less.
Conserve MP+15 as I understand it is approximately 5% base cost mp saved.
(+15% bonus to a 1/3 approximate proc rate)
Also put a link in the Trial by Water quest comments cause it wasnt linked for some reason :O
first off. is Conserve MP+15 better than MP-15%? 15% sounds like a lot of MP taken away...anyways, is this ring RILLY worth it? if so let me know how and why...lol
(P.S. if you could rate my post that would be great!!!! thanks)
im currently a 70 rng, i have 1146HP, i have fire ring and when i wear it i lose 15% on firesdays, which comes out to be only ~177 so it really not at much at it seems...
Someone posted in the Ice Ring forum section that to make sure you don't lose all that 15% MP, do your first MP routine, then switch the ring on to cure and nuke - buy the time you finish your opening debuffs, 15% MP will be used up and you won't end up losing any MP at all. Then switch it off to heal back to full. ^^/ Hope that helps!
It is misleading, both effects take place on watersday only, you have both +15 conserve mp and -15% mp on watersday. I can't honestly tell you if it's worth it, I'm not a blm, it would be pretty easy to test though.
Beat Leviathan in the normal, high-level battle. You'll receive a Whisper of Water. Take this back to the NPC in Norg who gave you the Tuning Fork of Water, and you can choose from various items or the ability to summon the avatar. The Water Ring is one of those items.
