The other 10% choose melon juice, since the materials stack to less space, allowing better portability, and it has the same refresh rate, with just a slightly lower duration. Gil per MP, it tends to be cheaper too.
Like many have said these Yagudo Drinks are not expensive to make and great for skilling up cooking, I did from 55 to 58 so far and have made a decent profit out of it.
Some dark crystals I had got from exping but prices to buy was for me 4-6k pr stack so a average of 5k pr stack lets say that.
1 x Dark Crystal = 5000/12 = 416g 3 x Buburimu Grape = 3x184g = 552g (184 bacause I have Hero fame) 1 x Yagudo Cherry = 40g
Total pr. success ed synth will be 1008g
I did have some fail synths but with dark staff it helped that I have for my BST job already.
Prices on AH was pending from 3k to 6k and I put them for sale for 2,5k every time, it took like 5min and 7 was sold already, that is fast so buy the time you make them they were almost already sold and people most the times did not under bit so I got 3k-6k pr drink.
Took these from Level 55-60 in the last two days on the Lakshmi server. Bastok is in first (I know, it's rare but it happens) so as a resident of Windy I just used my Bastok mule and stocked up on Grapes and Cherries and bought some semi-expensive Dark crystals and made a bunch of these with hardly any breaks and fast and frequent skill-ups. The best part though? these things sell FAST AND FOR GREAT GIL. I'm averaging 3,000 per drink at the Bastok AH, 3,000 per drink at the Sandy AH, and 3,000-4,000 per drink at the Windy AH. Between that and doing a few mithkabobs and some grilled hares (which sell for 3 fricking thousand at Bastok AH) I've built up over 200,000 gil in abut the last 8 hours. I know that may not seem like much but for someone who is from Hydra coming to a new server that is HUGE.
I want to know where you shop, because in sandy, on lakshmi, I've been spending 3k per stack of ingredients, and 1k for the dark crystals.. That's 13k for 12, and i've only been able to get 1.3k for each..
It pays off to check regional vendors for the ingredients for this. Whichever city controls the Kolshushu region will have an NPC that sells both: Grapes (184-208 gil) and Cherries (roughly 40 gil).
Anyhoo, for simplicity's sake, let's do some rounding. (Each synth needs 3 grapes, 1 cherry, 1 dark crystal...)
3x stack of Grapes = 3 x 12 x 200 = 7200 gil 1x stack of Cherries = 1 x 12 x 40 = 480 gil 1x stack of Dark Crystals = 4000 gil (this varies, so calculate it on your own server, on Valefor 7/16/05 about 4k a stack).
Total for a stack of materials = 4000+7200+480
This equals 11680 gil for 12 Yag Drinks.
11680 gil / 12 yag drinks = about 974 gil per drink.
So! In conclusion, when you buy ingredients from NPC's, each drink will cost roughly 974 gil to make (not including synth failures, and assuming dark crystals are ~4k a stack).
On Valefor right now (7/16/05) they sell for about 1500 gil each.
This means 1500 - 974 = 526 profit per synth.
Let's say you do this 12 times, that's... 12 x 526 = 6312 gil profit for 12 synths (assuming dark crystals are ~4k/stack and you buy your materials from NPCs's).
Just re-do the calculations with however much dark crystals are on your server (replace 4000 w/ how much they are) and how much yag drinks are selling for (replace 1500 w/ how much they are) and you can figure out whether or not these are profitable on your server =p.
On a side note, I tried leveling on this at 56 cooking. 10 synths with advanced cooking support, I didn't get a single skill up. 6 more synths with regular (free) cooking support, I didn't get a single skill up. I think roughly 8 synths with *no* support, I got 3x 0.1 skill ups... but I failed more often than I did with support (like, 2 or 3 out of the 8 failed).
on the Titan server, the shops sell the bits for cheaper, well i know a place that is cheaper, and if you shop arround for crystals, (airship pass will help) or farm, you can make a very tidy proffit.
I've used yagudo drinks quite frequently, and am about to start leveling summoner.. I'm certainly am going to be using them more frequently.. especially for my avatar battles.. My question is, Do the yag drinks stack.. in the past I've used a yag drink before the old one runs out.. I haven't had the opportunity to see if it's simpy replacing the one about to run out, or if it's actually giving more mp.. If it does stack, how many can be "active" at a time?
No, it does not stack together to more MP to a tick. if you use one then use another before it wears out then it replaces the first one. Hope that helps! =)
Hmm, well if you make these on darksday 6 levels below tha cap with Advanced Support you _should_ have gotten some skillups. Direction to face also (surprisingly) does appear to have a lot to do with HQ/skillup gain.
If you are still at 54, I'd try it with the free support(2 skill levels), as that would place you at 4 below the cap - generally a point where the skillups roll in a lot faster than 2 below (paid support is I believe 4 skill levels).
Check on the best direction to face - lots of links here on Alla have the chart. There is a 'safest' direction and a 'HQ' direction - you will get more breaks facing the HQ way, but skillups appear to come faster than with a neutral orientation.
thank you for your reply much appreciated yes i will try your advice ty again if its not to much truble could put up the links for the chart for the way to face or direct what to go under
Well I have my chart by me now... here goes. Once again I don't claim that it will work for you all the time - but synthing statistics I've seen show a strong correlation. credit for the chart goes to duuude007@msn.com
Yeah i tried that Directional thing after I read about it on here... Beats me how it works but what can it hurt... I have been making Apple au lait's and made a stack with no skill up... read here found pos. tried it and i got some good skill ups.
But what i dont get is theres some Star gaziers on top of the Optistery that have a Star map. Shiva=ice and is to the East, Leviathan=water is to the west, Ifrit=fire is to the NW.... ETC... I think that Star Chart is where the info comes from
I had a 50% fail rate at level 51/52 cooking (got .4 skillups). Total synths were 24, failed 12 of them. Lost about 7-8k in raw materials to failures. This was on Iceday at 26% waning crescent.
Most MP crazy combination in this game (well for the npc mobs that is!): Tarutaru WHM +50 with SMN sub... add Dark Staff + this drink... unbelievable mp regen! And you're right... the juice doesn't stack with RDM refresh... wouldn't that rock tho!
erm not realy, better would be lvl68 whm or blm with JSE armor (black cloak or nobles that adds refresh) + smn sub + redmage refresh + both BRD refreshes + dark staff + that earring that gives more mp when healing + there's a rope that does this aswell + Yagudo Drink
if you have red mage refresh effect or somthing else that give this other than summoner level 25 auto refresh, and use this, it DONT STACK ^-^ hehe yea i found thato out the hard way ...>.>
From what I understand, it should stack with auto-refresh...I don't have summoner up to check it, but by my understanding the way things are able to stack is by the icons...Regen is HP^ so anything that would give that icon won't stack with it, Refresh is MP^ so anything that gives that icon won't stack with it. However, bard songs are the acception, Paeon I, II, etc. stack, and the Mages Ballad I, II etc. stack as well. As a 27 galkan paladin, I've found apple au lait, pineapple juice and steamed crab (all i can make myself) almost removes the need for a healer, even with my measly mp.
Yes, you can use yag drink, food, and milk at the same time. The juices give the refresh status, milk gives the regen status, and food gives the meal status.
Yes, I think it will stack with Summoner's auto-refresh. As a White Mage, I have auto-regen, and things like Selbina Milk will still give me the regen effect on top of my auto-regen.
However, I DONT think any juices stack with the Red Mage Refresh spell. It was hard to pay attention in Crawler's Nest while leveling, but I'm 90% sure that Refresh took precedent over my juice and I just threw away some perfectly good juices. >.<
Refresh overcasts drinks. If you were to use a Yagudo Drink, and I casted Refresh on you, you'd get only 3MP/sec from the Refresh effect, not 5MP/sec from both of them stacked. I know, I've done it before.
