it's a shuriken type. i've used it. it goes in ammon slot, not weapon slot. rngs use it coupled with unlimited shot so you can throw it more than once a battle tarn

I have been playing now for a little over 1 month more or less and i have heard this expression on several occassions now and wanted to know how they work?

It's amazing how much wrong information are on these forums regarding these throwing winds.
1. If you throw it without Unlimited shot, YOU WILL NOT GET IT BACK. Like some said, best used by Rangers with high (200+) throwing skill.
2. Each wind corresponds to a certain God. This one is used against Seiryu to act as a dispel.
3. No you don't need these to spawn "Kinrirninrin" or whatever you said. You need the Seals of each god to spawn Kirin.
4. RNGs don't need Soul Voice + Prelude x2 to hit Gods with this thing. We should have enough RAcc items to hit it without ANY bard songs, given that you have put effort into your throwing skill.
Fyreus- Awful Default Decent Good Excellent Did anyone bother to take a look at RNG Throwing skill? no? thats why nin is best for throwing these badboys.
rng is rilly the best for throwing this for 2 reasons. 1. unlimited shot: so they can be used over again 2. rng also has high throwing skill also rng's gear is stacked w/ + ranged acc
When ,my RNG is 75 ima skil up trowing till its capped then go outside bastok and Sharpshot /ra <T> on a worm ... the laughs wont stop.imagine the DMG. a lvl 1 noob sends me a tell Noob#4309584097>>>> 0_0 How did you do that?(theres really that many noobs out there >.<)
So far, as my RNG with an uncapped throwing skill (I think somewhere around 200, a little bit below), I think I've hit every single god I've thrown this at, with Sharpshot and Unlimited Shot up, except for once when I attempted it after being critically weakened (dying several times in a row). o.O I can't explain it. It does massive damage even to gods and has an additional effect damage which is very strong, and can dispel the god's En-spell.
I think these things innately have better accuracy if thrown against the proper god.
Actually, this goes in the Ammo slot, like Tathlums, Arrows, Bolts/Quarrels(not that they use that term), bullets, Sashets, etc. I think it's a bag of wind. It does NOT come back...
It is Indeed a Boomerang I know this becaus a japanese bi lingual friend of mine showed me he had it through the trade window and yes it scary that it does 250 but its basically the relic boomerang in the game
This, along with the other high damaging throwing items dropped from the HNM, remove En-Spells from them. Usually a BRD Soul Voices+2x Prelude a NIN or RNG, and has them throw it.
Assuming it's a RNG, double Prelude Soul Voice isn't really necessary. An Archer's Prelude should be sufficient. On the off chance it misses with all the ranged accuracy the RNG has, he can throw it again in 3 minutes. Gods take significantly longer than 3 minutes to kill.
i own one of these but im to low level but i checked it on your characters equipment page and it goes in the ranged weapon slot so that means if that is right this IS like boomerang
i'm almost positive that you you collect the four seals to fight kurinrin (and posiibly some gem also, all of which i've seen in the game and heard of but of course can't personally confirm it's use).
i would guess this item is intended to be used by a RNG with "unlimited shot" so you don't lose it. whoever said this damage would pale in comparison to the RNG 2hr, i'm sure it does, but this you could use every 5 minutes, so there's pros and cons to both i'd say
Yes this really is bag of powder like the ninjutsu tools, like LordGod said. Ive seen this, and 3 other HNM ranged drops,(East Wind, Arctic Wind and Antarctic Wind) in one guy named Hansu`s bazaar at Garuda. Didnt take screen though... ><
this would own for a ranger if they used Unlimited Shot. it'd be like a ranger being able to use their 2hr ability every 5 minutes. all you need to do is use the following macro
/equip ammo "Zephyr" /ja "Unlimited Shot" <me> /wait 1 /range <t> /wait 1 /equip ammo "_____" (whatever ammo you normally use)
Unlimited Shot makes it so that your next ranged attack doesn't use any ammo, so you'd get it right back. i can only imagine how awesome that would be...
Just as a fyi: putting anything in an Unlimited Shot macro besides the Unlimited Shot ability itself and MAYBE an ammo change is quite possibly the stupidest possible thing you can do. Ask any RNG who's had a macro like that and shot off a PPA or GMB. ;D
Well, first all, considering the delay of this item, it is going to take longer than a second to throw it. Your macro is gonna need to look more like this:
.../range <t> /wait 3 <-(or even 4 maybe) /equip ammo...
I don't even see this as being half as powerful as a RNG 2hour. With one level higher, a RNG can 2hour with a DMG:50 gun with DMG:91 bullets.
Unless, can you:
/equip ammo "Zephyr" /ja "Unlimited Shot" <me> /wait 1 /ja "Eagle Eye Shot" <t> /em prays to God he killed whatever it was he shot.
Attention Tank: Do not bother provoking after this maneuver, it will do no good.
I am going to go 2hour something with a pebble, just to see if it is possible.
I'm sure its like a shuriken rather than a boomerang, cuz I really doubt the damage would be that high if it was able to be used more than once. It sounds kinda like the "Spoon" from FF4....a one time use with huge damage.
