This body armour is considered superior to the Royal Squires Chainmail for a PLD. You can afford to lose a few DEF with this one, the +4 VIT is fantastic.
Really concerned about the DEF loss then use Fish Mithakabobs with these, but I'd stay on crab.
I've been using this for quite awhile now soloing (43mnk and I'm like 200/500k for the Gi and I still need the O. Kote). Has anyone else noticed a major increase in criticals while wearing this? I've worn it in xp battles and I do seem to critical more, but when i'm soloing I'll get at LEAST 2 criticals per short fight against say a crawler in Rolanberry. Could an increase in criticals be a hidden effect?
Im gunna have to get this armor becouse as a poor MNK i can't afford the Jujitsu gi, so im hunna have to have some other gear this is the perfect thing expesialy if u like vitalaty!
well im using one right now im a 46 monk and have been using it since 42 when i bought it.i does wonders for my Charka ability,it boosts it up a couple hp when i use it and it also helps out my low def for being a monk.its a very nice replacement if you cant afford a jujitsu gi,but get the gi if you can.
Looks like a great piece of armour, and if it really is 30k set i will definately get it to replace my Centurians gear on my DRG. This is a very good set for DRG and it looks nice, although sometimes i wish we could equip some of the heavy gear.
Has anyone ever heard about or tested this item’s or its successor the Gaia Doublet’s ability to decrease a mob’s resistance to earth-based spells and abilities? A bard said he uses a Gaia Doublet to decrease resistance to elegy.
It increases your earth aura... so i guess if anything it would increase your likelihood of succeeding with earth based spells or abilities (like elegy). I'm not sure if it works that way though. All i know for sure is it increases your likelihood to resist earth type spells/abilities.
Actually I'm pretty sure you're wrong. VIT is used to lower the maximum amount of damage dealt to you. Def lowers the average ammount of damage dealt to you.
some monsters do less damage with high defense and others do less when you have high vit. it depends on which mob you fight. you will have to figure it out.
for the anonymous poster who said 1def=2 vit, this is true but what he doesnt realize is that def reduces average amount of dmg taken, vit does that and reduces maximum amount of dmg u can take, so its not as bad as you think =D
i read this from an official site a while ago, it might be the other way around (vit=average dmg taken, def reduces maximum) i forget but it doesnt matter to much hope this ha been helpful!
Has anyone used one of these for a Paladin? I figure by now we're eating def+ food. So the loss of a few Def isn't too bad, esp with the +4 vit gain. What does anyone else think? Anyone used one for a Pally?
in world Seraph you can get a Jujitsu Gi for like 300k it's way too expensive! And when you look at this gear, it has same defence only 2 levels higher, but at level 40 you can level to 42 in a few days, it's no big deal in the Crawlers Nest! Besides A monk could use VIT really good for chakra, better then accuracy you'll get for the Jujitsu Gi! And the best thing of all this gear is only 30k :)
Sure it may be good for chakra, but thats only if you Macro it into your Chakra macro... If you value VIT over ACC in an exp party as a mnk... you may need to rethink your job choice, pick up a sword and shield, and tank for a while ^_~
