If anyone bothered to look at Vana'diel Census, it says right there that to get this you need to do Limit Break 5 with 15 different jobs. This isn't what I've heard or think, this was SE telling us this. Just wanted to put that out there.

Actually, theres a quest after beating him 15 times, called Beyond the Sun that opens immediately upon talking to him when you beat him the 15th time.
It has a great story, I submitted it to Pikko to add as a quest to the database. I listed the coverstation I had with maat there

It's been around since long before the three new jobs were released, and I don't believe you even fight Maat for those three jobs, if they're your first job to hit 70, so probably not.

i seen this cap once on the carbuncle sever and it was the one time i was confused
I have set my new goal to get this cap. I seem not able to participate in alot of end-game things because i can't always play at specific times every specific set day. Alot of people feel this hat is un-attainable. I find it very attainable.
Your average player has 1 LV66+ job already, with at least 2 sub jobs LV30+.
The amount of EXP required to achieve the maat cap is aprox 7.5mil EXP. (exactly 8mil if you start a new char, which you could get maat cap after spending 3.7months hard core leveling 14 hours a day everyday.).
If you spent about 8 hours a day (say 4pm to 12am) about 25 days a week, allowing some days to have a real life each month. You could acheive the maat cap in about 6 months of play. This is not difficult, but it would require you to exp every time you log on, no farming, no question, just solid EXP for 6 months. The game has been out going on 4 years US. I have 5 months left before i feel i could obtain said maat cap. Thats also knowing i can't spend 8 hours a day, and 6 days a week playing. This is based on finding a good PT that yields 6K EXP/hr (some PTs will yield more, some less, but if you hit the average of 6K / hr you'll be on pace for this nice reward soon!)
I only need 5mil EXP. Unfortuantly i can't count the 1mil exp i spent leveling blue mage, and the 1/2 mil exp in merits lol. Good luck to those who want this cap!

I heard Rumor about first 6 Jobs + 1 advanced about a month ago, i had WHM, BLM and WAR lvled, started lvling thf, which is now at 63....

a friend of mine is lvling all the jobs, he has beat maat on 6 starting, + 3 adv, and his smn at 63ish.... He didn't get Maat's cap after talking with him

I recently made a deal with my best friend. We're gonna EXP full time on my character, then his. We'll both have our caps, and with the support of each other I think we'll even make it.

so after reading this thread, i have drawn the conclusion that people DONT REALLY KNOW how to get the cap unless they, themselves have attained it. i dont know of any characters on Titan who have this item. can someone please just go up and ASK a player who has one if its 7 jobs or 14 jobs (up to Zilart jobs)?
honestly, all jobs seems a bit rediculous. SE really hasnt been known to change standards like this - and it was obvious that there would be more jobs available...
the only reasoning for this is that Aht Urhgan does not really fall under the main/old-world storyline - therefore not relating to Maat, period. all of the new jobs have a separate type of Genkai system.
so i can just keep rambling on, but really, can someone who has gone up to a player and asked please answer? :p

I am 41, I imagine I'll be retired, myself, b4 I get the blue cap ^ I have four children, but still got a wife (no pun intended there folks, lol).
I know of a player who began about the same time as I did. He levels so fast, that I would not doubt that he has it cap.
Here's a horrifying thought - SE allows characters to level up to 80, but makes Maat's Cap the G6 item. . mwaahhhaahahaha!

You dont need all jobs level 75, just have to beat G5 on all jobs,
so all jobs could be level 66 and you can have a maat's cap... just dont be able to wear it until 4 more levels :P

Actually if you read through his post carefully it seems that he's not insulting anyone for playing this game for hours on end day after day. He's merely stating that if you find something in life that you enjoy and gives you happiness and you spend all your time doing it then you have a life, regardless of what society says about the activity. That's what I gather from the last paragraph of his post.
