From what we've dug up, this NM seems to come from an old Grimm Story. I've only found refernces to it in Spanish or translated from Spanish, but it seems to be a third installment from "The Elves and the Shoemaker." Los duendecillos translates to the elves. The third story involves a changling (that sound eerily like a taru) being swapped for a human child by elves. Which begs the question: If you boil water in an egg shell in front of a taru, will he go away?

we killed this NM duo last night while hunting for subligaria.
party set up was RDM(me), NIN,SAM,WHM,NIN and DRG.
RDM gravity on bats, while NIN vokes and kites it around. WHM silences Taru BLM...rest of the party attacks at pulverizes BLM pet. The bats take a long time to kill...so have RDM or BLM ES sleep it to get breaks in between to heal and regain MP. fight went ok we got into yellow HP never to red...we didn't get any drops >.<
PS...make sure you clear the room of any fomors 1st...there is a party of fomors so i suggest a some one take it for the team and kite the other fomors while you take out at least one of the fomors in part...doing so makes other fomor members dissappear..hope this help^^

my friend happen to pass thru phomiuna and took a bunch of picture for me and how he kill it .... <im a taru!!> and i send him back a picture of me killing a elvaan shadow =P mwuhahahaha this guy look like it look like its lv8 because of its armor oh and wise choices Pyerzuka =P my ls <full of tarus are planing to take over bastok>

when my alliance of 15 did this the bats had pet bats, same name and everything. We ended up killing the bats and the pet bats w/ a problem. The drops were Lv.38 Cheriptero Dagger (+12 acc) and the 39 Kantana. both were rare/ex. on a side note i got the dagger and i <3 it sooooo much.
Explain to me why bats have that taru instead of the other way around?? lol

we didn't have a problem at all with a party of 14. we had one rdm sleep the bats as we killed the formor. we hade two pld and one took the formor and i, the other, voke and flashed the other so the rdm could sleep w/o getting hit.

This pair was an extremely dangerous undertaking for my alliance of 16...the taru pet is blackmage job and casts -ga spells...
Spawning in the same room were 4 Fomors in an apparent party formation, and a solo fomor monk.
The bats have 2 drops that I can confirm, though I do not remember their names...a hand-to-hand weapon ~38 job, and a katana ~39 job...both Rare/Ex.

The Taru, of course. And as a note, kill the taru first, he does NASTY aoe spells, and hard as hell to sleep.
