Zvahl Coffer - WAR AF  

I had absolutely no problem getting a key for my PLD AF6...I switched to WAR three days later, trying to get it caught up with my PLD. I go into Zvhal...WAR?NIN, snk/invis up, have with me one of the best Canadain PLD's on Lakshmi...A SMN Demon aggro'd. C4>C4>C3>C2...Dead. Me: {Runaway!} ((His orders)) Freakin' Ele killed me. Moral of the story: Take more than one 75 with you. PLD AF6 I had Three 75's, a 60RDM, 59WHM,myself, 60PLD, 75THF, 75BLM, 75PLD. Gunnaar:BLM Feriska:PLD, Vadian:THF, Blackraine:WHM, Haplo:RDM (Save's *** more often than not), Aviendia:PLD.

so far I've spent a total of 5 hours killing these mobs for a coofer key, and NO DROPS! What's the deal?

Zvahl at first, esp at lvls 55-60 can seem intimidating, but once you get to the correct areas it isnt that bad. Mobs are around lvl 64-66 demons. you fight top tier demons in Zvahl bails, there are 4 rooms that you can fight them in, all 4 require you to drop down from above once you are inside castle itself. You can judge which is right platform but using torches to guide you and the right one is the highest (lowest drop) from above. The coffer also spawns in the 4 rooms, as well as four points in the lowest map of the area for a total of 8 spawn points. Honestly soloing coffer with sneak/invis or powerder/oil is not that difficult. I got legs at lvl 52. Getting key can be tedious but I was able to get it within and hour, coffer took 20-30 mins. I had 52 war(me), 66 mnk, 50 rdm, 56 whm, and 54 pld with me. Odd combo but no deaths and cleared room rather quickly. As long as you keep up with spawn rate they shouldnt be a problem. Demons will be IT or VT from 55-60, possibly T at 60 but good to have them done at 58 or sooner. Demons have low def, high attck, acc and evas vary on job. The demons in coffer rooms are: smn, blm, war, drk. You can also kill the Eye for coffer, but there is only one type, its easier if you have a rdm in pty to dispel and silence it, or bard. Demon TP moves are a weak drain, AOE slow no damage, and a blind spell. Pld do well against them, but if you can get a ninja who can keep blinks up and keep hate, you can cut a swathe through demons with no downtime. Get high DD jobs like war,mnk,rng,drk,etc. and this coffer shouldnt be an issue.....as long as key will drop.
You can get this coffer anytime after you get war af hands quest. I still use war af pants at lvl 71, or I use Thick Breeches for DD in exp pty, af for all other occasions. Stats are good, def is high, solid piece of armor that you shouldnt go past lvl 60 without. Good luck, hope this helps.
