ok I'm curious to see if this effect stacks with the 2nd march, and if it stacks with a summoner's haste and a WHM's hastega.

The first part of my research shows something intresting. Melee attack speed is not consistant.

I used Shellbuster to attack 100 times w/o March and 100 times w March. Shellbuster's delay is 264.

Seconds between the moment of damage W/O March:

5.0 I
4.9 II
4.8 II
4.7 IIIIIIIIIIII
4.6 IIIIIIIII
4.5 IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
4.4 IIIIIIIIIIIIII
4.3 IIIIIIIIIII
4.2 IIIIIIII
4.1 IIIII
4.0 IIIIII
3.9 I
3.8

Seconds between the moment of damage W March:

4.6
4.5 IIIIII
4.4 IIIII
4.3 IIIIIIIIIIII
4.2 IIIIIII
4.1 IIIIIIIIIIIIII
4.0 IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
3.9 IIIIIIIIIIIII
3.8 IIIIIII
3.7 IIIIIIII
3.6 II
3.5
3.4 I
3.3

so as you can see, not only is the delay between attacks randomish, but haste shaves exactly 0.5 seconds off the average of a 264 delay weapon.

I don't know yet if it takes off more on a slower weapon, or always 0.5 regardless of weapon. Also don't know if it stacks with the other 3 group hastes possible, but I'll post that info when I'm high enough level to find out.

This does stack with mage haste. I tried it and was amazed! Furthermore, haste reduces spell casting times. Put both this and haste on nad check your refresh timer.

I believe that the effects of March can be stacked with others, as the same is possible with Paeon. I discovered in the dunes at the very level of which I learned Paeon II, that its effect and the effect of Paeon I could be stacked for the 3 hp regen per tick. I doubt they would limit this effect to Paeon, so you needn't worry.

Great Post!

I just wanted to point out that those figures you show are a standard distribution. The tally shows that square E is not using random numbers but rather a mean and standard deviation approach. I hope that helps...

The variation is caused by lag.

The other night in Eldieme noticed a very nice effect of this. (at least I think this was what the bard was using, since he was level 51) With fast cast, refresh takes 16 seconds to recast. With haste it takes 14 seconds. With my haste, plus bards haste (march),refresh takes 12 seconds to recast!!

after some research with Fast Cast (which is Haste for spells) I've noticed that spells with a shorter cast time recieve less effect that spells with long cast times.

So, I think it's safe to say that March would reduce the delay of a weapon that took 10 seconds to strike by 1 second, in other words, March reduces a weapon's delay by 10%.

Ended up having to use Soul Voice today, and used this song in juncture with Sword Madrigal.

From my point of view, it looked like an act of extreme gang violence.

Hundred Fists removes all delay, any hasting after that is a moot point.

Agreeing with Muze, but in a bit clearer way...

Bard song effects generally stack with spell effects or items that do the same thing...

A good example of this is that you can stack Refresh, Ballad, and Ballad 2 for a super fast MP refill. Because the spell effect is sometimes the same as food/drink, you can't also stack juice... but you could eat cookies or chocolate for extra mp per tick while resting (if you had no food active).

Granted I haven't tested it yet but Bard buffs are completely seperate from other jobs. Each bard can put on 2 buffs (so 2 bards = 4 songs but they must all be different songs) and these do not affect any other job's buffs like Haste or Protect.
In a shorter version : It stacks.

Valeriano is usually found in San'd because San'd is usually in first place. but this merchant can be found with his circus troupe in whichever city is in first place.

They are only there if San'doria is in first place. Otherwise they are in Windurst Woods (if Windy is first) or in Port Bastok (if Bastok is first).

Also, if there is a tie (we had 2 first places, then everyone was tied for first next week) there will be no circus (i picked a bad time to level WW on arrows ; ; )
