Anyone casting this spell in a fight (for healing people, the unsleep thing works really well) is clearly insane. I did it once in qufim, took all the hate for about 30 seconds and died. You might as well start writing your will in the middle of a battle if you plan to use this.

P.S This is my first post, and i noticed the html didnt work. Sorry :P

I have used this in battle a lot and get no hate!! I use it when intire party is slept form a mandy in on of the jungles when I learned this on my own.

The trick to it is that you keep intire party in good full HP and only use cure more then higher lvls cures.
Once party is slept I am far away so not slept, cast curaga and all awake.
You do not get hate if you cure 0 HP thats the trick. So even if you get some hate it will not be a lot, one voke should pull hate off fast.
Although 60 MP to wake everyone is a lot, its faster then up to 5 cures (40 MP).

Just somehting I have found hope it is helpfull.

Curaga isn't really to be used in fight, except in extreme emergencies. The Hate generation is pretty lethal to the WHM who uses it in combat, like a mini-Benediction.

If your tank is doing his job properly and the rest of the PT are watching their hate carefully, there generally won't be many occasions when anyone other than the tank gets hurt.

What this spell (and the rest of this spell line) is useful for is reducing downtime. When a goblin drops a bomb and your entire party is on red health, a single Divine Seal + Curaga will put them back in the white and you can sit down and get your MP.

Use in battle at your peril - you will kill yourself if you do it too much!

wakeup call
# Jan 15 2004 at 4:14 PM Rating: Excellent
Another nice use for this is a quick way to wake up all your party members when they are put to sleep. If they aren't all low on HP and it doesn't actually do much healing then you won't draw much more aggro than a single Cure II, but everyone will be woken up.

Good idea, but something occured to me. Does Protectra also wake up the entire party? If so, it would be better, if only one person needs curing, to cast Protectra (which has an 9 MP cost) instead of Curaga (which has a 60 MP cost).

i think the "wake up" part of this spell is the hitpoint change. i know poison keeps sleep off, and of course the cure line, a real question would be (one i haven't tested) does regen prevent sleep?
Warnings

This spell + Divine Seal makes great after battle clean up. Do it during battle, and you can be in trouble. :(
battle warning

I just wanted to reiterate the first Anonymous's warning about using this in battle -- be especially warned that Curage + Divine Seal in battle seems to be almost as bad as Benediction in battle, as far as the hate it generates.

I made this mistake, once :P

lol I also would like to reinforce this statement, I have whm as subclass and during abattle of our mage casting Curaga I have had to use my Cure I/II just to keep them alive while provoke slowly takes effect.. be CAREFUL, you were warned ;)
This spell is underconned

This is actually as strong as Cure II for the entire party. Great spell to have for cleaning up after battle, but be warned, even a warrior's Provoke can't overcome the serious aggro this spell brings.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 13 2005 at 9:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) a warriors voke cant even overcome my cure II lol...i used it and i had hate for like 3 vokes, whm's draw hate bad, especially taru
