Yes INT helps this spell, as it helps all 'black' spells. If you look to the left of any spell you have learned you'll see the 'info ball' which denotes the spells base element & if it's white or black, white spells will have a cross in it while black is a swirling vortex, all white is MND andd black is INT.

Why are there so many posts of the same question? And why do people keep posting up there costs of drain spell in their serves?
WHO CARES! We are in different servers or if we are in your server, then we probably know by now that it's costly anyhow! So stop posting wasteful comments!

Anyway, by anyone's opinion what do you think is the easiest quest in Sandy/Selbina that would cost the least gil to do in order to get lv 3 fame in sandy?

I remember getting fame for this back in the day and the quest I used was like 4 la theine cabbages to the sheep guy in selbina. It's easiest done when your nation controls Valkurm so you can buy the cabbage from the area vendor, OP warp to Valk, turn in your inventory full of cabbage, and warp back. Or even Teleport now that I think about it.

I'm currently working on this quest. I am headed back to sandy for some more la theine cabbage I already traded 26 stacks and that's all about 312 things of cabbage. HOW MUCH CABBAGE DO THESE SHEEP EAT!?!!? yeah well I just wanted to know how much fame you actually need in order to get all of the spells.
Just got this for my DRK for 100k on Titan. It was a bargain compared to the ussual pice tag which varies from 150-300k.
I love this spell. I just wish that I could remember to use it from time to time. lol

traded 5 stacks of bat wings to the bat wing guy in n.sandy and 3 stacks of rabbit hide to the rabbit hide guy in s.sandy, done 2 quests prior to this and had enough fame, level 75drk/thf got the blood for me, job done, 30mins. rank 3.3 bastok so got into chateau no prob

I used to have a few mules for my character and I would always race them to rank 2 within 3 hrs and do 15 unique quests, triggered the drain quest no problem, got the scroll, sold it for the gil for crafting.
But now it looks like something changed. I've got 20 quests done and rank 2... yet, now I can't get the stupid quest to trigger. Anyone else have this problem?

Iam just starting BLM and i quested drain and i will soon quest aspir. But i wanted to know, at a higher lvl BLM like 40+ do u ever use drain and aspir? in lakshmi they are both worth 300k. so should i sell it or use it?

Just reading some of these posts from back ing tha day. I just started my Chracteur again and I am at the poimnt where i really want Drain. It now cost 400k at any AH. An to think we were complaining about 20k and 35k man o man I wish.
If you're on any server non-Remora, you're lucky; Scrolls of this are going for 150-200k...

You'll have to get to Novalmauge in Bostanouix Oubliette, which is under the Chateau d'Oraguille in San d'Oria, and to get into the chateau you need to be at least rank 2. You need a certain amount of fame too, don't know how much. Novalmauge needs a vial of beastman's blood and in exchange he gives you the scroll. For me as a 18BLM/18RDM Taru from Windurst, I needed level 3 fame (as checked in the bar in Southern Sandy) and to atleast have the sandy part of the 2/3 mission opened to get into the Chateau

Jeez! What the heck is up with that!? 23k, 35k?! On Siren server, it costs like 70-90k! You guys are sooooooo lucky.....i will eat all of you lucky feller's...Better yet, I'll Drain you!

This spell can do almost double a cure spell for me (which is pretty big cuz im only lv 23 :() and it also does damage to the mob. I enjoy using this spell on lv1 mobs and killing em instantly while curing myself. This spell is just fun

why do people think you need treasure hunter 2 just to get a drop???
i went to pashow maqrshlands with a drg/war and got the drop after killing only about 10 leeches no big deal no hastle

i have no fame in sandy >< so im farming bat wings for fame cuz i sure as hell am not paying 90k for drain in windy/sandy/bastok or 110k in jeuno and 75k in kazham >< pandemonium server
I'm a whm/blm with a low dark skill and I'm only taking whm to 38 to sub for brd, so I was wondering if this has a good damage/mp ratio if you don't have high int and dark skill.
It's selling for 70-80k right now and I've got this far without it just fine, so I'm leaning towards selling it.
Also, getting Sandy fame is very easy. I have lvl 4 fame everywhere right now and it wasn't very hard. Only the Best in Selbina with the Boyohda Moss gets you Bastok, Jeuno, Selbina, and Sandy fame (Doesn't lower Norg fame ;) and the cornette one in Windy is even easier.

On the shiva server Drain currently cost 60-80K >.< Needless to say I'm questing for it. I have two Blackmages that need this spell... I don't understand why its 50k cheaper on other servers...
This spell does damage based on your Dark Magic skill, and retores some of your HP too. Even if it says that it drains 0 HP because you're at full, it will STILL do damage to your target. Great spell to have, use it every times you can. It can end up doing 200+ damage at the higher levels and it'll only cost you 21 MP..
it seems as if s-e is extremely biased towards sandy.....

So where are the good quests for magic in Bastok? All we get is Tele-Dem...as far as I know, anyway.
This is a great spell only I think it should not be a quested only item or should be a quested only item if you are of that job and that level to use it.

What do you mean some people can't get to Sandy...that's such BS. I've done level 1 races from windy to jeuno down to bastok and back. So there is no reason for anyone not to be able to quest this item. Anyone who says otherwise is just lazy.
