with a BRD sub (its not completely useless) as a SMN, i can see the potential of Light Threnody+Carbuncle+Astral Flow+Searing Light= at least 25% of monsters HP... anyone ever tested the difference this song makes?

Just a lil note, this song is a dark attack that hits the target with a darkness aura, making them less resistant to light based spells.

I can't seem to get this song off onto an enemy. After attempting to cast it on an enemy claimed by my party, I get the message "You cannot attack that target." This is the same message I would recieve if, say, I tried to cast a direct damage spell on another player outside of Ballista. I thought it meant I could only have 1 song effect on a mob at a time (just like I can create only 2 song effects for allies using my instruments), since I had Foe's Requiem on most mobs I tried, but that is not the case, or at least, not the problem. This song effect would probably have just replaced any one before it, anyway.

Thought it'd be nice to mention that for all of us BRD/WHMs, you get Light Threnody at 10, the same level that your WHM's Banish kicks in from WHM 5. Congratulations, you just made yourself that much more powerful.

From what I see, I think this song goes well with summoners at low levels. Since Carbuncle is light elemental and it's attacks are light elementals. It would be very useful for beginner summoners to use this song first before using carby to attack... I'm planning to use this method to fight avatars since it's capped at lvl20, I can make Shiva become less resistant to light and use 2hr on her

where is the fishing store in South San d'Oria? It can't be a guild.. only fishing guilds i know of are in Windurst and Selbina!
yes this has nothing to do the accuracy of the mob, it is just like a fire threnody or earth threnody, except this one lowers the resistance to light attacks, such as banish and flash

Ingame this shows up as "Reduces an enemy's resistance against light.", not "Decreases target's hit percentage."
