Blue Mages, get ready to pound your keyboard in frustration. This spell for some reason will take you forever to learn. In fact, I still haven't learned it yet but I will celebrate the day I do get it.
For some strange reason, I thought that the respawn time on treants were set at 15 minutes. Because of this, I would often travel from one treant spawn to the next and make my way back to the first thus trying to get in 3 spawns before resting.
The respawn rate is around 5-6 minutes; much shorter than I thought it was. With this little piece of knowledge, I would suggest camping "Walking Tree" in Jugner Forest at either camps (J-10) or (F/G-7). It's well off the beaten path allowing you to concentrate on the treant with no wandering passersby trying to kill your prey.
~ The camp in (J-10) has Tigers, Orcs, Boggarts and Bogy's (night only). All of these aggro. Tigers and Orcs to sight, Boggarts to sounds and MP use, Bogy's to sound and low HP so becareful. All of these also aggro to resting to be prepared for some complications at the lower levels. The treant can spawn on both sides of the small river in that area and can spawn very close to the crag spine where the Boggarts are and up top on that small plateau. There are lots of treants in this area, moreso than I have seen in the other three camps so prepare for links.
~ The other camp is to the northwest at (F/G-7). The only thing you really will have to worry about are Goblins and Thunder Elementals during lightning weather. There are treants and tigers but not so much compared to the other locales. This might be a better option for low levels. The treant to the south in (F-9/10) is also not so bad but Orcs and Tigers are more plantiful here.
Like most guides say, get a lowe level weapon if your higher level and just feed it TP. I go BLU/WHM with Pro/Shell, Cocoon, and full MP before each fight. Dont cast Matallic Body or the mob wont gain TP. Do yourself a favor and don't even attempt this without capped BLU Magic. You will waste your time.
It really is as bad as everyone is saying.

i think that every blu at some point goes through this: I have hunted this spell for about 3 weeks now i am about 0/40-50 i have seen it multiple times and both soloing and in party's. I have even seen it off both the NM Treant's in juger Forest. My blue magic is capped at my lvl (41) and i use a low Dmg weapon to feed this thing TP, i also follow the typical school of learning spells where as soon as the mob uses its move i hit it hard with a good blue mage spell. Still nothing , if anyones has had this problem let me know

I got this spell first Treant I fought for it, right after I had just got Claw Cyclone. And only 3 minutes in seperation inbetween each, lol. I hate to brag about it, but I love it when it happens.

In any situation where linking a mob is a possibility, don't forget this spell. If your acc is decent, you can do a bit of dmg AND freeze a potential threat in its tracks. Also, i've found that the dmg scales up as you lvl and your BLU magic skill rises.

Hey this is Dataflow, one of the good old boys from the Gilgamesh Server and the GobsMustDie Linkshell. Cane told me some interesting information about a location in Lufaise Meadows position (G-6). There are plenty of treant mobs there called Leshys. I learend Pinecomb Bomb on the first mob there as BLU29/NIN14 with a BLM75 helping. Good luck to all you new BLUs cause to put it simply BLUs RULES!

spent a hour in jugner tryin to get this spell but im 0/7 now and 0/20 for mp drain kiss then the trents stopped spawning or i couldnt find it

I was out for a while trying to get this spell with a friend of mine in Jugner Forest. However, we stumbled upon something. The Treant wouldn't use the move if there was a hate switch (as in, someone steals hate from someone else). So, it's actually easier to solo them if you can, or bring someone who can provoke so the Treant doesn't spin around a lot. Hope this helps everyone out.

I agree, BLU has alot of sleep spells, drain ones too, too bad all the good ones have such killer-long cast times XD

Pinecone Bomb is a nifty lil ranged spell that they gave to BLU's. I usually only use it to pull mobs, if/when I'm called apon to do so. This spell along with Mysterious Light (Gravity) are good kiting spells. I think that SE purposfully made BLU's the best sleepers in the game. At level 44 I already had 3 different flavors of the spell.
