Went as Blu/Nin, although you could probably go as Blu/Whm to save on using antidotes. The NPC on Purgonorgo Isle sells them for 530-ish gil (kinda expensive).

I built up TP to 300 on one of the fish spawns. Rested to full. Engage the Coralline Urganite but face away from it. Open up with Jet Stream first thenturn around and melee. It will retreat into its shell after Jet Stream, but you should have taken off a good 20%. Immediately cast some poison spell like Quesyshroom. I find Poison Breath's poison effect to wear off a little too quickly. Continue to melee. Once it comes out of hiding, hit it with Red Lotus Blade. If you time it right, it won't go back to hiding yet then you can hit it some more with Bludgeon. It will go back into hiding after your RLB or Bludgeon so use an Antidote and reapply poison if need be. When it comes out again, be quick about it and hit it with Bludgeon. If you hit it quick enough right after it comes out of hiding, it won't go back yet. You have like a half-second window so have your finger on the button. This gives you an opportunity to hit it again with Jet Stream. By now it should be at 20-30% life. Repeat this again with Bludgeon and Uppercut/Smite of Rage (Jet Stream will probably still be recharging). Hit it with Jet Stream the next time it pops out and hopefully you will have learned it. I only used 3 antidotes with this method and had plenty of MP left.

I learned it on my first kill after being covered with Venom Spray about 30 times (I had to run away from 2 previous Urganite encouters because I ran out of MP, until I figured out the method described above).
how i got it

i was lvl 42 and i tried to solo these even with my npc as healer type and i still had problems but with the random help of a 37 blu and a 37 pld and of course my npc the 37 blu and myself learned this after killing just 3 of them
Antidotes are a key

I got this with 40blu/nin.
I read up plenty on Urganites before my attempt. My plan was to bluild TP when they're in their shell and blast them with Bludgeon as soon as they came out.
The fight is pretty long but it all a matter of timing. To start the fight I'd hit them with Feather Storm which poisoned them thus slowing down regen when they hid in their shell. I was hitting it with my two swords building TP while doing 2-8hp damage...When it finally came out of the shell I'd hit with bludgeon and Chain Affinity WS Red Lotus Blade from time to time. Chain Affinity gives you TP bonus for more damage. Of course every time it used Venom Shell I'd use Antidote rightaway. With my shadows up and high Agi the thing couldn't hit me at all. I also had autoregen from equipped spells. I would call this an easy fight although time consuming. No way was I ever in danger and always had plenty of MP using only Bludgeon which costs only 16mp but lots of damage.
How to solo your Venomshell

hey there blue mages, there seems to be alot of people having issues soloing this one befor level 42 and alot of talk about the urganites sucking up your mp. Well because of all that i figured i'd give my 2 cents. i did this at 41blu/whm easily. /whm for poisona. the problem with most people is that blu tends to blitz a mob killing it as fast as possible.... this is a very bad idea for these. when they are in their shell they take 2% dmg and regan but do NOT attack you.... so just keep pokeing it with your sword dont waste mp on spells get tp instead, can cast poisona to take care of their poison when they go into their shell. as they come out of their shell bludegon>jet stream will take a good chunck of their hp and they will go back into their shell and keep not attacking you. once you have TP be ready, try to predict when it will come out of its shell... take a guess... then chain afinity Red Lotus blade and as it pops out of shell Jet Stream for a fusion. doing this jet stream would do 300+ with a fusion of 150+ takeing about 50-60% of their hp. also if you run out of mp and dont manage to kill it. just run they dont chase you long. Happy Hunting blue mages........ oh and watch out for clots they aggro >_>; warp 3
good tactic

i did this solo at 44. all i did was take lots of antidotes and ethers.
it hated me doing the following sc's - Seraph Blade > bludgeon = liquefaction, the bomb toss it, takes off a good 1/3 of its hp
good tactic

Even an EP Uragnite will burn you're mp out fast, these guys have a really annoying Regen power, which makes them almost impossible to solo till after they rate TW XD

Untrue you can beat these things if there EP, DC, EM but you see theres a nack to fighting them. When there in there shell they only take 2% damage thats why you fight them when there outside there shell attacking you. While there tucked away hiding this is usually a good time to back up a little bit drink a juice, smoke a cigerette, pay attention to your girlfriend whatever.

If you want to learn this before you can actually use it, go in a group of either 2 or 3 people. Even an EP Uragnite will burn you're mp out fast, these guys have a really annoying Regen power, which makes them almost impossible to solo till after they rate TW XD

I gave up learning this before I could use it, I waited till later, learned off 3rd TW Uragnite at Bibiki Bay just past the ManaClipper exit spawn. This place also seems to be a good place later on to farm Magic Fruit.^^ GL All~
