This is one of those spells you will leave on for a long time. VIT down on mobs is a dream. When Soloing, I usually sub WHM and start off with Dia > Wild Oats > Bludgeon on East Altepa Dhamels. You will notice that your Bludgeons go up in damage compared to not having any debuffs on the mob. Great Spell, went 1/8 on Tiny Mandys in East Sarutabaruta.

This spell is great for lving up. I normally hit a crawler for 8 damage at lv6 (I was hunting cocoon), but after i use the spell I hit 16 damage even my foot kicks damge went up by 2.5x. I dont know is it because I'm low lv or wat but its all good right now!

You can use Wild Oats as part of a combo to create Beast Killer. Can be paired with any of the following spells to create Beast Killer combo.
* Sprout Smack
* 1000 Needles

# Secondary modifiers: AGI: 30%.
# Is NOT calculated as a ranged attack.
# VIT down effect decays over time.
# Additional effect of VIT down is not guaranteed even if the spell connects.
Skillchain Element(s): Light (can open Compression, Reverberation, or Distortion; can close Transfixion)
Any mandragora at any level will use this spell. I am not 100% sure on the mandies in the past, but I will check on that and edit this when that time comes. Good luck spell hunting.

Fought several Mandragora and Tiny Mandragora trying to get this with no luck.
Went to Tahrongi Canyon and killed Pugman w/e got it on the second one. Same with Cacoon.

i simply can not get this move... ive sat fighting these for about 2hrs.......and not 1 did the move..............

If you equip both Sprout Smack and Wild Oats (Plantoids - Physical, both of them) you get the Job Trait "Beast Killer" which increases your damage against beast-types, and causes them to sometimes be intimidated by you.
Lvl 4 to use, MP cost is 9, BMP cost is 3, physical spell, ranged attack, Strong vs. beasts, Plantoid based.
Also gives CHR+1 and HP+10 when equipped, does dmg + VIT down.

This spell drops the mobs VIT by about 10-14. This begins to decay after about 20 seconds. You can recast it to put the VIT loss back up before the effects of wild oats wears off.
I use this as my first move, always. It can mean the difference between win and death.
