Hippolytos' Special Attacks
Historical InformationIn Greek mythology, Hippolytus ("looser of horses") was a son of Theseus and either Antiope or Hippolyte. He was identified with the Roman forest god Virbius. The most common legend regarding Hippolytus states that he was killed after rejecting the advances of Phaedra, the second wife of Theseus and Hippolytus's stepmother. Spurned, Phaedra convinced Theseus that Hippolytus had raped her. Infuriated, Theseus believed her and, using one of the three wishes he had received from Poseidon, cursed Hippolytus. Hippolytus' horses were frightened by a sea monster and dragged their rider to his death. Alternatively, Dionysus sent a wild bull that terrified Hippolytus' horses, causing them to drag Hippolytus to his death.

was farming in delkfutts yesterday and decided to see if this wee guys had spawned -nice my luck was in there he was so i pulled him out and start meleeing him with enfire on.i dont take chances on nms im not sure about so i take my time.this guy is easy but but not as easy as mimas jeez now theres a weak nm.basically in short it was funny watching him try to hit my stoneskin but with his hundred misses.id say if hundred fists on him was more accuract it would do some nice damage but other thatn easy.im only 59 rdm and he hardly touched me but i was looking at the previous comments where a 66 monk was down to 30 percent health omg how? u guys r power dealer i just a wee rdm and btw i only used my level 20 decurion dagger lmao.
Just soloing my 30blu/nin around the area, he pops, I full rest, Cocoon, Ute, Metal body... I notice my atks are doing almost nothing... My DEF held up fine, I was able to zone him without coming near death, But if I would have waited longer, or he 2hred.. i may have died.. I suggest some melee job 35+ for taking him on

Oh man I could not believe how easy this guy was. Me 39pld/war and and a friend 36war/mnk, took on this guy shortly after Tickster Kinetix. Oh he was so easy. Hundred fist barely hurt at all. In fact the war tanked most of the fight and barely took any damage. I'd say I probably could have soloed him.
Edit: forgot to mention he dropped the bracelets. I let my friend keep them.

was camping against a party on the stairs in lower delkfuts, the party i was camping against turned out to be gilsellers....party had 4 NINs... they pulled this and were b a r e l y hanging on, BLM bit it around 75% HP... they were fighting for like 5 minutes, and then the NM finally used hundred fists and completely wiped them out in seconds.

So what are the drops selling for nowadays?
15k for bracelets on Valefor. Wouldn't pay much more for them anyway though, because the NM is so pathetically easy to kill.

I got the habit of camping useless NM's.
I like to fraps them and make some neat music video sometime. Ah well, just raped him as a 72 blm >_<; lol
He didn;t drop the bracelets..he dropped a necklace, socks and shield.

Ok, directions to this guy. Zone into Lower Delkfutt, then hang a left until you reach the spiral stairs. Go up them and down the corridor next to the stairs until you get to a small circular room with a few gigas in it. This is where he spawns.
I was ******** around in the tower when I saw a samurai hanging outside the room. We chatted a bit, and he pointed at a large black Gigas and said "By the way, that thing's been there for about 5 minutes. You think I could take it?".
Needless to say, my NM detectors went haywire and I immediately dove in at around 70% HP. This desicion nearly killed me. He used Hundred Fists at around 60% HP, and tore a good chunk out of me. I chakra'd, but I still was about to go down. Doing a Hail Mary, I popped my own Hundred Fists and used Raging Fists on him, followed by another one a few seconds later from my flow of TP. He went down, I had 223/965 HP, and all I got were his goddamn socks.

Everyone has some nice stories about how you fought him, you skilling up, what level you were but you're missing a couple key things for everyone else to go kill him(as i might add, no one places spawn points of NM's in forums anymore). Post the Floor and Grid location in your posts. I'm not interested in stories about "life in the tower" but more interested in spawn locations and which floor. I do see someone posted a spawn point, but no floor....

Soled this poor giga with my war56, just to see.
Berserk + Warcry + Aggressor + Rampage = 1027dmg (build TP just to 190%).
He have 2200 HP in total, at last I did 2249 dmg on him (in total).
He did just 61 dmg on me (lmao!).
Killed this poor guy in like 30 secs.

We were a lv22-24 party in Qufim. We went in there to pull Giga's at the stairs and we found him, so we decided to go for it. Our pt was WAR/NIN NIN/WAR RDM/BRD SMN/WHM WAR/MNK and THF/WAR, mid-battle he hundred fists me (WAR/NIN) while I was tanking and he owns my ***, but they end up winning anyways lol. Sucky drops but it was fun! We didnt have help either :p

I think this was the NM the pt I was with in the tower pulled. We were in Qufim lvling an went into the tower around lvl23-24 (i was our pts whm). My one friend WHM44 was PL the pt cause he was bored. Well our puller decided to play stupid an pulled this bad boy. XD We had several high lvl players around telling us to call for help (I think they may have been camping him). But our leader insisted we fight this sucker anyways. If it wasn't for my whm friend an a higher lvl SMN in the area we would have been one dead pt cause I ended up running out of mp since I wasn't full rested from the fight before. This was all a while ago (cause I'm lvl 30 now) so I can't remember how many of us died. I made it safely though. ^^; The only drop we got was the gigas socks.
I'm now 1/8 on him. I just camp him when I'm bored. As a 51MNK/WAR, when he throws up Hundred Fists, I use Counterstance and own him ^^

lol Fought him today, was fooling around the tower. He used hundred fists and missed atleast 20 times in a row lmao!

So not to long ago, I found out about the gigas bracelets. I've killed Epi. 2 times now without a drop so I figured I would try camping all 3 NM as I farm gigas since no one else seems to. I looked for Epi. with no luck, I then found my way to Hippolytos. He wasn't here, but killed the place holders and move on to the next one.
After make my second rounds, I found Hippolytos waiting for me. To my suprise, he wasn't a War type. I figured he was just a Rng type. I killed the other Gigas and went to work on him. It was then I noticed he was a mnk type, and he hit for decent amount. I still laughed it off and keep going. That's when it happen. Hit hit hit hit hit within seconds. I started to laugh because I knew that I was F-ed in the A. I didn't have aquaveil up and forgot about my bar-spell macro. Needless to say....He beat me, but only had 1 hit more to take. I'll get my lvl back and then go for round to on this beotch.
Oh and to the drg/whms out there, if you take him on, make sure you have aquaveil up ^_^ and use bar-spells

After my static broke lastnight I was extremely bored and headed over to explore Delkfutts on my own. Being a 43 PLD most everything conned as Too Weak, Banshee's still came back as EP with low evas/def. I went to see where Mimas was and basically got lost. It had been a very long time since I was here for my rank 4 run. So I opted to check in on this NM.
Killed a few Gigas and he spawned.. Flashed him and went to town. He was chipping away at me every so often for 10-15 HP if he connected. At 505 HP he used his Hundred Fists.. To be on the safeside I popped my 2 hour Invincible.. Glad I did because he all of a sudden was clocking me every hit, maybe missing 2-3 times.. So i know while attempting to heal at my level he would have interrupted my spells and probably taken me down to orange easily from his nickel and diming me away. Eventually his 2 hour wore off and I iced him with no issues. Gave up the socks and that was all he wrote!

I was on the second floor of the tower raising my divine magic skill when i see this NM. i had just tried to kill Polybotes the night before and was unsuccessful. I figured i might as well give it a try because i recalled it being a lower level than Polybotes. Everything was going well until he used Hundred Fists luckily i had my 2 hour ready which made his 2 hour a waste. I ended up killing him with about 50/715 hp and got the socks. this was with my 37 pld/war

We were in a pt, tring to get a some XP. Sudenly the puller found him. We all had a brief debate if we were gonna fight him or not. To make a long sad story short. Hi kicked the grap out of us. After the tanks went down, hi used Hundred Fists and killed the rest.
After going to HP, half the pt disbanded. But one took his RDM lvl 45ish, and whopped his ***. Got some good screen shots.

Ok, i was levelling my staff skill at this spot one night trying to get it to lvl 80 when this thing popped. I remember reading about it on this forum and decided id have a go! at the time i was a level 40blm/20whm.
1st try was goin ok, i beat a rng to claim him and started to melee him (yes i am nuts), thought id get a few skill ups while i was at it ^^
I was doing really well until he popped hundred fists at about 45% health (i wasnt expecting it) ><
Needless to say after that things kinda went bad, with me dieing and the ranger standing there laughing at my dead corpse!! >:/
With revenge in my system i decided to go back and camp him, since it seems no-one EVER does!
after a couple of hours camping and skilling up it finally popped again, this time i was prepared tho and devised a plan which i thought would work, and here it is:
1st: buff up, shock spikes, protect, shell, aquaveil, blink.
2nd: debuff him, blind, paralyze, dia, slow, drown and bio II
3rd: melee to my hearts content (i had already stored up 240%tp) whack whack whack, earth crusher!!
At this point it was on about 55% health!!
4th: elemental seal + bind then gain some distance.
5th: popped my 2hr (just incase) and ~ga him to kingdom come!!
unlucky for me though my bind kinda wore off, and now i got a very angry gigas coming at me >< kinda scary when ur a 4ft midget with not alot of health!!!
This guy was missin alot and thx to aquaveil my thundaga wasnt gettin interupted, So i carry on nukin (***** my health i just wanna kill it)!!
Finally he goes down after about 3k worth of damage >< and all i got outta this endeavour was some gigas socks, what a f***in waste!!!

Well we had a party of PLD(24), 2 MNK(23), War(23) and a Ninja(24) and myself RDM(24).
We rested full, and the pld pulled him. we had him going really good, got down to the nitty gritty, everyone alive and most of us all in yellow. I saved as much mp as i could just for the Ninja since he was main tanking it, but i had to rest and he got him in a few good hit's, down to about 50 HP. I had about 17 mp and was resting for a cure II for him
and just before i could get up and cast it he did a lightning Roar and killed the Ninja ; ;
We won the fight soon after, no drop. But it was a lot of fun to fight the NM in such a low xp party. especially with only one mage, was a lot of fun.

owned this guy first time as 48drg/24rdm. was pretty funny when he used hundred fist, i had just high jumped and my wyvern hit him and stole hate. he dropped hundred fist on my wyvern and was the funniest thing i ever saw. looked like my wyvern was going crazy it was dodging and blocking his attacks so much. reminded me of a bird fighting a really big cat lol. only dropped socks :( I've killed it a few times pl'ing party's at the stairs. not really worth hunting unless you just want to kill it for sport. if you do decide to hunt it just make sure you have some way of healing yourself if your below 50. wouldn't suggest trying till lvl 45 or so. mage mains should be careful with his hundred fist attack it could really mess you up if starts landing alot and disrupting your casting. happy hunting^^
This is a notorious monster, he cons as "Impossible to gague" to a level 50 pld. He used 100 fists on me, but missed numerous times. He only dropped gigas socks for me. He spawns at E8.

I saw him before...but at that time a Lvl 50 Char was soloing him!

BTW: I haven´t got the Map of Delkfut. But he spawns in the West Wing of Lower Delkfut when you climb the first stairs in the West. At the Top of the stairs there´s a Path to the left to a single Circular Room. There he spawns!

Took him down without any trouble and got both Gigas Socks and Gigas Bracelet^^
Was fun, and he looked really kewl =D
