Mission OrdersA series of heart-stirring festival games, culminating in the purportedly profitable "Mega Mog Bonanza-Rama-Palooza"! Will our hero go home a champ, or a chump!? Walkthrough
Examine the Shadowy Pillar just inside Castle Zvahl Baileys. A Stooge Moogle will apear and tell you to go to Xarcabard for the Xarcabard Trivia Challenge. Go to (G-7) in Beaucedine Glacier and check the Lonely Evergreen for a cut scene. Head to (H-8) and talk to the Goblin Grenadier at the tower. You must have the Map of the Northlands Area to proceed beyond this point in the quest. Around the area of (G-8), (H-8), (G-9) and (H-9) are 6 "Pips," the Northwestern Pip, Northeastern Pip, Eastern Pip, Western Pip, Southeastern Pip, Southwestern Pip. Examining a pip will spawn an elemental of a random element. The elements are hints to a number. Taking into consideration the order of the days in a Vana'diel week (Firesday > Earthsday > Watersday > Windsday > Iceday > Lightningday >Lightsday > Darksday) use the element of the elementals at each pip to "connect the dots" to draw a number. The order is irrelevant, as long as the days you are connecting happen before or after each other, ie Water>Wind>Water or Light>Dark>Light. See the example on the right. Once you have determined the number, return to the Goblin Grenadier. He will ask you for a number between 0 and 9. He will give you two hints but you may only guess once. If you checked all of the elementals, you should be able to decipher the number without any hints. After picking the correct number, you will receive the key item Pocket Mogbomb. You will also get a Flee effect. The duration of the flee effect is inversely proportional to the number of hints you used to guess the number. Return to the Lonely Evergreen at (G-7). You will receive a Trivia Challenge Kupon in exchange for your Pocket Mogbomb. Proceed to Xarcabard. In Xarcabard you will find three "Options." Option One is at (G/H-8), Option Two is at (G-9), and Option Three is at (G-8). Check any of the options to start this part of the mission. You will be asked a series of multiple choise questions. The three options will be assigned a possible answer for each question. To pick an answer, examine the option that represents the answer you want to choose. The questions will be as follows:
Return to Castle Zvahl Baileys and examine the Shadowy Pillar. You will be asked to local the "Flames of Fate." When you accept the challenge, an eight minute timer will start and your level will be capped at 1 and you will be given the effects of Sneak, Invisible, and Deodorize. It's a good idea to bring some Silent Oil and Prism Powder, since the effects can wear off before the event is over and other players will not be allowed to cast magic on you to restore them. You can examin the Shadowy Pillar again to restore the effects, but this will not reset the timer. If you are KO'd while your level is restricted, you will not loose experience points. Examine the Flames of Fate at (G-8) near the bottom of the stairs that lead to Castle Zvahl Keep to receive a Festival Souvenir Kupon. The level restriction will be lifted and your HP and MP restored. Proceed to Castle Zvahl Keep for the last part of the mission. Examine the Ominous Pillar just inside Castle Zvahl Keep. You are to find a moogle somewhere in the keep. Go to the area with the teleport pads. Check the Craggy Pillars in each of the rooms that you are teleported in for a cut scene with a moogle. Keep teleporting from one room to the next, checking the Craggy Pillars each time. Once you find the correct moogle, you will receive a Mega Bonanza Kupon key item. Proceed to the Throne Room.
