BUT THEN A PASSBY KILLS IT IN FRONT OF ME AND GETS THE CHARM!!! DAMMIT!

Well the other night I decided I wanted a Rabbit Charm finally. So I went and started camping Mr. Jack. Well I camped him for 6 hours that night and he popped 4 times, all of which I claimed.
He didnt drop anything except a rabbit hide on the first kill. I am a 63 THF, so I have TH and TH2. I also have a Millionaire's Desk(if that rumor is true, but I highly doubt it is true).
4 times in a row, and nothing. I come back the next day, wait about 2 hours, he pops and I claim and kill him again. Yet again nothing.
My suggestion is this, if you aren't a 45+ THF, please don't kill Jack, the drop rate is so bad that even with TH and TH2, that a non 45+ THF is just killing another rabbit. If you've gotten the drop without TH and/or TH2, congratulations, that was one heck of a luck drop for ya.

The reason i have camping this guy is so i can get the item and use it for my thf to level up. I know its not the best thing to equip but at the level my thf is it is the best. I don't wanna buy it and i have no need to sell it either but i'm not going to stop camping this guy till i get my charm so i will probibly be there awhile
I went out to hunt Jack last night and got to the spawn point and pulled up WS. There he is. I track and run up to see him claimed. The THF/WAR that had him was just standing there provoking every 30 seconds. Apparently two players had sat there for 2.5 hours with him waiting for the moon to go to full. I gave my opinion that in my experience moon cycle didn't matter and advised it was kind of messed up they were preventing a claim. This whole time, the other party member was running around shouting "Pay 5000 to watch Jack die!!" I sat down and watched for a while until they finally killed it and got no drop. I came back after a few hours and added to my no drop total with Jack.
Jack and I have an interesting relationship. He and I decided a long time ago that I could keep killing him and he would just keep giving me nothing. I don't remember signing the contract but he has a copy... anyway, that's besides the point. I have killed him as a Red Mage, Thief and Ninja all at varying levels. I have used wepon skills and have used no weapon at all. I have killed him during a full moon and a half moon and most other moon phases. If there is a trick to Jack, I am an expert at avoiding it.
My thief has long passed the point where this is useful except maybe in farming. Since I don't plan to fight Maat as a Thief, I won't need it then. However, the hunt is personal now so I guess I'll keep at it.
well now i'm mad as hell cause i was camping this guy in the wrong spot. What happend was i was north of the spawn point imbetween the 2 mountains. When i saw him on widescan i said wtf is he doing down there so i run to him to find someone else killing him i was sorta mad cause i was killing places holders for about 2 hours but it made me mroe mad to find out today i read this map wrong and i was camping in wrong place so i wasn't really killing places holders just good plane old rabbits.... make sure you read the map carefully

rangers get widescan at lvl 1 right . ? and is this worht doing

I think they meant is widescanning worth doing. 1st yes u get it at lvl 1 and from what i hear the distance it scans gets farther as u lvl. 2ndly its hard to answer that ? cause it depends how u like to hunt. I personally use widescan in large sometimes overcamped spawn areas and it works well for me.
I am 1/7 with this guy, I hunt him everytime I am over there and have some time to kill; sold the Rabbit Charm for 450k on leviathan, so yeah, I would say he is worth fighting.

well, i started hunting him for the first time, got really tired of getting leaping lizzy, so many campers.....
well, i arrived to west ron outpost, killed a few forest hares, then i said, hell. i decided to do some HW like 3 am. every now and then id type /map and do widescan. I have thf 15/ rng 1 and eventually, jack spawned, like 1 hour. i didnt kill hares for like 20 min, he just spawned naturally. Maybe it was the other n00bs killing the forest hares as always. So after like the billionth time pressing /map and widescan, i scrolled down the list, and read.... Jaggedy-Eared Jack.... my heart was beating like 5 bps. tracked him down, and killed him... obviously took screenshots, but no drop :(

JACK HATES ME!you'd think after 3hrs he would show but not for me. >< I hate this little guy and once I get RNG hes going down!

OK, first time i met this guy was with a friend just started lvlin Ninja and I was lvl 8... i saw him and thought... F**K i cant do crap but went in anyway and got totally owned!
Yesterday I was going through WR with my nin ready for Qufim at lvl 20 and he was there... i was nin/war so I thought crap the drop will be like very low... so i did it anyway... I killed him no drop... but the benefit.. my Nin go revenge on this little creep!

I'm lvl 50 whm and rng...anyways i was lvlin bst, it was lvl 8 at the time. I see Jack (for the second time lvlin bst, last time at lvl 5 and i died obviously lol) this time i was gonna die again, but b4 i die, outta nowhere someone cures me (how someone can be that nice i dont know) anyways i kill it and i get charm :P First time i killed it i got the drop so im 1/1!!!
Anyways ive heard a very plausable theory from someone on how you can get the drop more frequently. But im not sure if i wanna share my information. :P Reading this forum reinforces my sources theory...ill have to try it out :P

I am poorer then poor and from what you guys say this little things drop is worth 300k-1M,BUT he hardly drops it ><. I'll test my luck and give him a go. If im there more then 4hrs forget him ill go kill LL who I have no luck with either. Wish me luck I NEED THIS RABBIT CHARM!

i claimed him twice in a row today but not a single drop^^
oh btw. my for my second claim i've waited 4+ hours for him to spawn ..... THIS is one of the reasons i hate him ... the other one is: he didn't drop anything yet ... well i'll try till i get it cuz i want that Charm (not for selling!! but for my THF!!)

My main is WHM at 41, but I'm levelling THF to 45 (currently 32) because I camp NM's way too much. Anyway, I decide to start camping Jack. THF32/RNG01.. Also need to level RNG, but yeah. I camp for 10 minutes and see him. 0/1. I go help a friend with something for an hour or so and go back. 5-10 minutes later, 0/2. etc... 0/5. I will get it someday. Muhuha.. xD

My first time camping this NM, i use my 25 THF/RNG. After about ten minutes i c it's name, claim it, no drop :( I waited another hour, maybe an hour 15, c it's name claim it and get the drop :) There's really nobody that camps this NM. Good luck to u campers out there

OOOOOHHHHH every1s favorite nm for drops anyways. This is 1 big ugly hare. There r lots of theories on this guy but my experiences r as follows>>>forest hares seem to obviously be the placeholders and from the info i gathered and from a little hunting experience it seems to spawn every 2-3 hrs. The 1st time i hunted it i fell asleep a little after an hr but the next time i was stayin awake till i got him, which i did between 1-2 hrs>no drop of course especially since i had rng subbed. So since it takes so long to spawn and drop rate sucks, i said i was just going to pass by spawn spot every time i walk to and from San (very convienent since im an Elvaan from San) hoping i have thf subbed. Since then i did once with thf but still no drop:( Other than that i was messing around there while i was on phone 1 day when i scanned jack with drk/rng i ran to him trying to race some1 but my poison wasnt fast enough and that was about the only times i ever seen jack since i started hunting him. Btw i usually have my war for hunting>>>VOKE^^

Just kill the wabbits in G-9 and H-9, since that is the area he spawns in. And as I have stated here before he does have 2 different spawn rates. One is where he spawns about every hour if you kill all the wabbits in the spawn area. The second spawn rate is just a regular spawn, yes I know he is a lottery pop, but I have seen him spawn this way when no one was killing wabbits. He will spawn every 2 hours 45 minutes, 3 hour or 3 hours 15 minutes.

Well, i'm 0/8 now on Jaggedy. Seems like the spawn times are getting longer. I've gotten him (and seen him spawn) in the 1 - 1.5 hour range in the past, but lately is more like 2.5 - 3 hours.
Which rabbits can carry the place holder for him? Is it only the rabbits in G-9 and H-9 or is it any rabbit in WRon?

In Sandy(diabolos server) the prices goes from 1 gil(????!), 300K, 500K, 1M. If i get it i will sell it for 1M (hoooo yeah!!!)

Not that he spawns at three different rates, just have have seen him spawn at those times, from the last spawn. So he will spawn anywhere between 2 hour 45 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes even if you do not kill any wabbits. And yes he is lottery, meaning kill all the wabbits. But I have camped him enough to know both spawns, lottery and timed are right.
Killed him in under an hour 3 times in a row....

That's pretty contradicting. You say first he has not one, but 3 different timed spawn rates, and he can also be forced to spawn? ... Nah. He's lottery. Smoke the local rabbits.

what exactly is the spawn rate of jack. i saw him yesterday and got beat by a damn theif using flee. i had rng subbed to smn and that is my NM camping job/subjob i have gotting emp with that, leaping with that, and i have seen jack and others but never can beat them i do admit smn is not a good job to camp NM's with but it is my highest job. oh well anybody know the spawn rate anyway

Well an update on how I have been doing. took time off from hunting the wabbit. But back to camping him. I am now 0 for 15. Advise to anyone camping him, he will spawn every hour or so, BUT youhave to kill regular wabbits to get him to spawn that quick. Just kill all the wabbits in the G9-H9 areas.
Saw that someone put one up for sell at the AH on the Asura server in Sandy. 10K, then 69 gil, then last one was found 2 weeks ago, someone pushed it back up to 290K. Square needs to have a natinoal drop day. Just to raise the drop rates on NM's. Make it to where y ou can only get an item ONCE, durning the drop day. Would be nice for all of us that actually need the items for our jobs.

I got my rabbit charm w/ my lv60 THF earlier this week ^^, I never killed any rabbits to "make him spawn" theres already enough noobs doing that(if its true that killing Hare's helps him spawn)i'm
like 1/5 on him.
