Wow, way to ruin some of the story line for people who haven't done ZMs yet.

may be really important to erase hate in the end lol... got 6000 dmg from Everyone Rencor, BLM friend got... 14500... (donno how many Berries he killed O_o)

this was the eziest fight i ever did, i didnt even need to use elemental seal with sleepga 2, we did fight in 3 mins 19 seconds, some how i stunned everyones rancor to =) we had 74WAR,75WAR,74NIN,60BLM(me) 75SMN, 75 WHM. we walked in and 1st WAR 2 hrs rampages for 1500, and this poor thing is pritty much dead, seconed panzy tonberry got owned, and the last tonberry(smn) didnt really do much with diamond dust, i took 399 dmg, it was honestly a sad and pathetic fight on what everyone makes it out to be. every says "oh its so hard, you NEED to use ele seal then sleepga 2" no...no you dont lol, everything i casted on these guys sttuck with ease. but after the fight, dont go into the little throne room. i went near the door and like 8 tonberry rushed me ; ; (after i warped pt members). cool CS though
Yes - You do need Sleepga II, but make sure that the BLM has his magix skills capped or it wont to anything but annoy these toneberries.

No- you don't need sleepga II for these NM's my elemental seal sleepga worked just fine.

57K F'IN DAMAGE TO A BLOODY FENRIR WITH EVERYONES RANCOR THIS BEAST DID!!! ;_;
Was looking through old screen shots today and came across one while doing ZM4. Our NIN got 1 shotted with rancor and I ended up tanking Grav the entire fight as 68THF/34NIN.... Good times. ^^

So, I was surfing iTunes and came across the Final Fantasy XI - Rise of the Zilart soundtrack. I bought a song off of it called "Grav'iton." It's too soothing and relaxing to be a Tonberry's theme. When does it come in? Is there some kind of cutscene before you enter the battlefield with this guy? If you've heard this song, it starts out with acoustic guitar, then has this flute thing. Sounds real innocent-like. So anyways, where does it come in? I'm just level 32, I don't know this stuff. xD
Its probably during the cut scene after the fight where grav'iton explains the back story for the RoZ missions.

We did this mission last night. Getting there was the hard part but the actual fight was surprisingly easy. This might have been because we had an awesome blm who had sleepga II. Anyways, we ran in and he immediately used sleepga II on this one (he'll be the one standing in the center). Just like we anticipated, he ran towards us while the other two slept. He's not particularly hard if you have a good balance of damage in your pty. We had smn, blm, pld, rng, sam, and whm so we were doing well on the dmg side. I can't emphasize how important it is you keep his buddies slept, however, I imagine that's common sense. I really would recommend having a blm who has sleepga II at hand because this made this so much easier. Thank you Raenstorm, you were awesome. ^^
A word of caution: even tho it may seem like a wise decision to take out this tonberry 2nd or 3rd due to the dangerous nature of the other Tonberry NM's, this one CANNOT BE SLEPT. So he should be the first one taken out in the BC fight.
Oh yes, and his attack "Everyone's Rancor" is the same as regular Tonberry's "Everyone's Grudge," except on crack. It deals damage proportionate to the number of tonberries you've killed--its just rancor does a HELLUVA lot more per tonberry than Grudge ^^;

It CAN be slept, sleep doesn't last more than 2 seconds, BUT IT can.
Grav'iton never did Everyone's Rancor during battle (maybe because he died so fast :D), aside from the SMN 2 hour shaving off half life to everyone (including the lv 75 pld), nothing really BAD happened. Was FAR away from record tho. 9 minutes to clear, record was 4 :D
Anyway, got that out of the way, ZM5 is hell though....

Alrite, I stand corrected, I just assumed it couldn't be when the BLM's Elemental Seal+Sleepga II was resisted, and repeated attempts at Lullaby + Sleep II + my Sleep were all resisted :P

I think your friend is the stupid one who forgot to reset Tonberry hate.
Yes, Everyone's Rancor will do that. That's why the guide recommends resetting hate for EVERYONE, though too many people ignore this and act surprised when they get oneshotted.

This guy took about 4 hours to defeat!
That's literally impossible, as this battle takes place in a Burning Circle, and all such battles have time limits. Pretty sure this one is 30 minutes or less.
