i saw this as soon as it popped as a 51BST/WHM and had a go at it...
i was doing quite well just swapping pets alot but not fighting so i wasn't getting hit and i thought it was gonna take it but then some other sahagin aggroed me and i had to warp..
i got 487 exp soloing there with 50% exp ring though

I ran into this guy helping my SMN friend get her coffer here. We got the key and set off to look for the box when she forgets to recast sneak in a safe spot, 4 Rock Crabs later, I'm fighting over her dead body, trying to save myself. Used Spirit Taker about 170 times. I find safe spot to rest my MP and go raise her. Full MP and HP I get going, suddenly I get tagged by something, it's this moron. So I fight him like usual wondering who I'm going to get to come R2/R3 me... Surprisingly, I don't die, 1 sahagin links, I kill it slowly, go back to NM, 1/2 down, he uses Call Wyvern, I focus on pet it dies, another link, kill it, another link. Finally I wise-up and fight him in a safe spot. He dies and I get a whopping bastore sardine; SE's form of a joke I'm sure. Raise my friend and I'm off. Used Spirit Taker about 117 times
Note: those who don't know, Spirit Taker is a staff WS that converts damage delt to your MP, highly useful in coffer parties when the rdm/brd cops an attitude/gets lazy.
Note #2: when using a good staff to fight with, Earth Staff isn't so good in the damage department =/

heh, this NM is dumb. his drop is only worth 20k on mmy server. I was camping "Chary" when some bst tiped me off that he spawnd and asked if i would help him kill it, by the time i got there the bst had died. So i raise him and run to this guy, claim him, kill him. Wile i was killing him the bst died again >.< I feel bad cause i'm sure the bst wouldnt have made such a big deal about it if he only knew how worthless this drop is.

my duo partern and i attempted this as lvl 53 bsts, we got about 1/3 of it's hp then it called an IT wyvern on us, we managed to kill the wyvern and got 200 xp off it but this guy was just ripping through our pets so we decided we better just log out and leave it be.
facts: he does pop about every 2-3 hours if someone kills the shahagins in the area with the inlet where the parasites are and a torch. i xped here from 54-57 and popped it about 6 times. everytime it popped i shouted that he was there and eventually someone would show up to kill it, after killing sahagins for about 2-3 hours it would pop again, i popped it 3 times in a row so i know for a fact it's spawn time is 2-3 hours.

the pop time window is greater then 3hrs i have been here for 5 hrs already and no luck yet, tried yesterday aswell camping here and was here about 6 hrs with no pop
Semi-interesting story:
I was soloing in Sea Serpent Grotto and was kicking *** this morning. I got tons of XP, great chains, and I even got my first Chain 4 (late at level 52, but I usually play it safe and stop after 3 to rest ^^).
After about 3 solid hours and my tnl getting closer and closer to level 53, I decided I was done for the day and could log. My camp was extremely safe so I rest up to log out here and now. Then I see this **** past a stone formation that guards the camp spot. I curse (of course) and then remember that not a damn thing can see me in this camp. I ALMOST decide to see how big mine are and take this thing on, but there were too many aggro mobs around.
Well, I logged out and look him up. I suddenly realize that he drops a cool Polearm that I saw a high level SAM wearing only once in my entire play time.
By the way, I was beating down Bog, Swamp, and Marsh Sahagin. My camp was at an alcove with a climbable stone formation over-looking an area with leeches, Sahagin, and a pond with some crabs; it also had a torch near the back. Hope this helps anyone camping this thing and good luck getting that Monsoon Spear.
And as a reminder, I was there 3+ hours before he showed, not sure if that's normal.
Don't blame me if you didn't like my story. I did say semi-interesting

Nice pic, Never saw a monsters wyvern so i thought it looked different than a drg's wyvern.
Thanks! I'm the one who took that. ^^;; Normally he doesn't have his wyvern out, but we had tried to fight him and got him down far enough where he 2-houred. (DRG 2-hour being Call Wyvern.) We had to Escape in the end. (5 person party level 57-60). When we came back he still had his Wyvern out so I took a picture. ^^
Great screenshot there. He kinda scares me...
