I wanted my AF2 done bad but couldn't find someone to help. So I decided to run up to the Cloister of Frost to solo as BRD75. Luckily I ran into a DRG75 JP that happened to be breaking his latent on his trail weapon. I asked him for help and we both ran to the BC. I wasn't sure how it would work out but here's what I did:
At the start I used Soul Voice and played Minuet and Paeon. DRG engages one. I noticed the DRG was getting beat on pretty hard considering so then I used Horde Lullaby and they all slept! They weren't sleeping too long but long enough for me to take a few hits(without much trouble) and recast. I tossed him a few cures for safety but he didn't need them. When there were two left I switched my target to the sleeping one and started to hack at it. Then the DRG tore out a WS and it was all done. Pretty fun fight, fast and easy.
I threw Blastbomb praying that I would get at least a couple of them to stay put for a second... They all bound...for the entire duration of the fight--from a Blastbomb on BLU sub level 30. SMN Astral Flowed and only needed 1 pact. They were finished off by -ga and meleeing.
Just went and solo'd my SMN AF2 fight with my BST... and I must say it was pretty darn easy. Lol
I don't understand why they make you do so much running around before you get to do the fight... but... I /ranted on that on another thread >.>
Anyway, I went in, called a PanzerGalahad and used my 2hr just to make sure he was up the challenge. I was careful not to get aggro on myself before sending my pet in. I waited about 30 seconds for him to get some hate, then casted dia 2 on one and started killing whilst Panzer tanked the rest. Needless to say it was an easy fight and it lasted all of 5 minutes. I did use one pet food zeta... however it wasn't necessary.
The fight was cake... from what I could tell... lying on the floor watching.
We ran in, I popped Shiva and assaulted. Hit Sleepga... bad idea. All "Dryad Evades." Needless to say, with no other crowd-control, I dropped like a rock.
PLD even raises me, they're having such an easy time... and what do I do? Get back into AOE range. "Sprout Spin" = Crashin dead again. lol
Oh well, 2 Raise 1s. Got the cutscene though, back to Windy I go.
That's right. A smn friend just asked to do it for her. They're highly resistant to sleep. Expect one to land, not for long, and another with Elemental Seal.
Me - BLM72/WHM Her - SMN50/WHM
The dryads can be defined as weak, they're still 6, so I wanted to use the Sleepga- Nukega- Sleepga technique. It's good thing to note they're not standing still, they move around a bit. We buff up, I run in, too far since they aggroed, and launched Blizzaga 3. It did around 700-800 to them, and took them to 60%. I quickly cast sleepga 2 as they eat my SS and blink. 2 of them resisted, so I slept one with sleep 2. I finished the other with with a Tier IV and Drain. The others woke up at that moment.
Meanwhile, my brave little smn kept me alive with cures and Earthen Ward / Aerial Armor. Even so, I'm soon in the red with the 5 remaining waking up. I tried sleepga II to only get resisted by all of them. "oooh ****". Popped a quick ES + Sleepga I to save my ***. I cured myself to full, and I had around 140 mp left. I told my smn, she had 200ish mp, to get Titan ready for an Earthen Ward. With SS+Blink up, I used Manafont and Blizzaga 3 again. They woke up before my spell finished and ate my SS quickly. As I start Firaga 3 for the kill ( they had 15% at that point ), i tell the smn to use Earthen Ward for another SS.
Spell landed, killed them all, I have 40 hp and about 10 seconds left on manafont. Close call -.-
Looking back, sleep and nukes technique isnt best for that fight. A massive AoE damage can get he job 3 times faster, and is less dangerous. If another Blm wants duo this with a smn, buff up, have the smn Astral Flow and uses w/e avatar you like ( i like Ifrit ). Use the avatar to gather them up, and use the Astral Flow BP. Then, have the blm use a strong -ga spell followed by ES Sleepga II. Another BP + -ga should be more than enough to kill them.
Ran in, BLM used ES + Sleepga (didn't have sleepga II) and slept them, we pulled one ... the pld was very nervous, said last time she heard a battle was easy she got killed. But we hacked it to death in less than 20 seconds. MNK says "LAME!" and starts unloading on another one, PLD pulls another and kills it quickly. It was a very fun fight ... The moment it's over, our blm says "That was ****in lame."
PLD replies, "Guess I wasted that hi-reraiser."
Very fun fight, not too hard if you know how to handle it :P
In response to XxchopsxX about why the NM is that level but I'm in full AF.. keep in mind there's several of these guys. When I did the battle for a friend, the whole party concentrated on killing the others and I would just choose one, take it over to the side and solo it. I killed two completely on my own and had a third one half-dead. So yes, I imagine it is possible for a 64 RDM or higher to potentially kill all of them if he/she keeps their Stoneskin/Phalanx up. Don't quote me on that though; there's a big difference between one mob hitting you and never breaking your Stoneskin and half-a-dozen doing the same..
Either way, it's a fairly easy battle for an Artifact piece, and quite fun to boot. ^^
Really nasty NM, her normal attack will slow AND poison you. Also, she's immune to ALL forms of magic, so I'm not exactly sure what was meant by it being "weak to fire." If that really is the case, then your party definitely needs a Blood Mage.
Use the new hero the firelord against these. Of course he can't kill them all at once until he gets his ultimate.
ok i know this post says 50-50... but the RDM they show fighting this dryad is in full AF... the hat itself is lv 60 sooo whats the deal? just curious :D
