Bitoso Special Attacks

  • Cure III: Single target HP recovery effect. (Bitoso will frequently use this spell, regardless of its hp level, until it runs out of mp.)

  • Paralyga: AoE Paralyze effect. (Circle of effect originates from spell target).

  • Cocoon: Self target Defense boost effect. (Effect can be dispelled)

  • Sticky Thread: Frontal cone AoE Slow effect.

  • Poison Breath: Frontal cone AoE Water based magic damage with additional Poison effect.

Historical Information

In Romanian legend, the Bitoso was a multi-headed worm of otherwise normal appearance and size that was said to induce stomach-aches and decreases in appetite.

Rng/Nin
Pld/War
Rdm/Whm

Got him down to about 1/4 health before we were OOM. I used EES + 2 Barrage's, for a combined damage of about ~900 damage during the battle, I was using Horn Arrows. Eventually even the PLD couldn't get it off of me, and Paralyga had me wasting my time with Utsusemi and I was the first one to die, then the PLD, then the RDM.

This thing sucks, I'm 0/2 now.

Lv 30/15 RDM/BLM in Ramuh, I am 0/2 now with this guy : (

me, a PLD/WAR, and a RNG/WAR went at him twice, even with 2hr's he lived (to about 25% health)

Some Points about him:
-He has a def. boost that raises his armor to ungodly amounts
-He will run out of MP after a while (or maybe he just stopped casting?)
-The Paralyga spell will be no problem if you keep good distance
-Damage dealers are a must, since trying to wear him down will get you killed ><

I have a capped enfeeble and elemental, but the only debuffs I could land were paralyze (Fairly esay, stuck for a while), Blind (3rd casting stuck) and slow (2nd casting stuck).

I tried using Silence, but even with seal he will resist. He may be immune to it, if thats possible (im not really sure, but it sure as hell wont land in him)

He is Sleepable, but it is only marginally effective.

My advice is either commit to a battle of attrition or all out offense. Either one is quite difficult, and the middle ground is quite hard to find in this fight.

Someone, please, give me a video of this fight. I just _have_ to see a crawler casting Cure III.

Drk/thf (me)
Thf/nin
Whm/blm

Whm casted protect and shell.
We ate our food and then entered.
Me and the thf did well with sneak attack,
almost everyone was succesfull.
It took us 12 min and it was close once,
so our whm used Benediction and we had the upper hand.
Bitoso keept casting cure III and the paralyze -ga spell till the end.
Gonna Try

Gonna go after this thing some time this week with 2 of my buddies - DRK/WAR, BLM/WHM, and me (THF/WAR). We'll probably lose without a full healer, but we're gonna try.
Chalk up a loss for BCNM30...

We had a WHM/BLM (me), a RDM/SMN and a DRK/WAR on our team. And we lost. A few notes on this:

1. Bitoso has an insane amount of HP. Our DRK was hardly scratching this thing.

2. He casts an annoying AoE paralyze spell. Barparalyze is only marginally effective against this (and it's liable to run out anyway.) Paralyze is relatively easy to get rid of, but unless the mages are standing back a ways it can interrupt healing. Which sucks because he likes doing this spell.

3. In addition to the insanely high hit points, this thing spams Cure 3 like there's no tomorrow. One could tell that he's got insane hit points because Cure 3 hardly moved the bar at all. But it did move it enough that it was at very close to max HP the whole time.

4. To top it off, this sucker is incredibly resistant to enfeebling magic. Both the RDM and I kept desperately trying to cast Sleep, Silence, and anything else that might prove useful. It went something like this.

Caderyn casts Silence.
Bitoso resists the spell.
[Red mage] casts Silence.
Bitoso resists the spell.
Caderyn casts Slow.
Bitoso resists the spell.
[Dark Knight] casts Sleep.
Bitoso resists the spell.
[Dark Knight] hits Bitoso for damage.
Bitoso casts Cure III.

...You get the idea.

Recommendations:
1. A good damage dealer is a must. Two if possible.
2. The only way you could possibly enfeeble this thing is if you have a RDM with capped enfeeble skill. If you're lucky.
3. Bitoso doesn't hit as hard as it might, so if you have a good healer you might get away with not having a tank-oriented class. (Our DRK did okay tanking until the mages ran out of MP and kept getting paralyzed while trying to heal.)

If anyone's actually beaten this guy at the 30 cap, please tell us how it's done!
