I just read that in the intro movie after Aldo climbs through the upper whole to escape the orcs, they might not have tried to chase them but were screaming cause they might have been surprised by a knight or something. Also we don't hear Emelyn (Mathilda) scream and nothing. More suspicious is that the orc is quiet a while and while Aldo runs of you can hear a grunt which really sounds like he is suffering.

her parents said her parents found her alone and thought her real parents were taken by monsters, she forgets everything except one boy's name...
The girl in the opening movie is named Emelyn, and is mentioned by an NPC in the Tavnazian Safehold.
Considering the fact that Mathilde's kid is named Aldo, and that she is the old lady & old man's daughter but a father for the kid is noticeably absent.. I'd place my money on Mathilde and Aldo being an item. At least at one point in time.
I just spoke with her and then spoke with her mom NPC, who asked me if I'd met little Aldo yet. I ran all over Selbina looking for him but couldn't find him. None of the kids had any info for me either.
He said something about going out to meet a friend by the beach, so next time I log on I'm going to run around all the beaches in Selbina hoping for another cut scene ^^;

She is for sure Aldo's sister because... Ramona (her grandmother) said she lost her memory, and I am 100% sure that Ramona named her Mathilde, and that her real name is Emelyn ^^
I too keep getting cutscenes with her. I'm up to the one where mini-Aldo goes to play with his friend as well. So far I haven't found him. Although it might be wise to check the Valkurm Dune Swirling Vortex.

She's kinda mysterious, any speculation about where she came from? Her cutscene indicate's she's important somehow...
Ummm... yea... She mentions Aldo, (whom she also named her son)... Aldo is the kid in the intro movie, and we all know Aldo is now in the Tenshodo...
