did well over 2400 damage to this thing on my Magic Burst the other day, rather proud of myself actually ^^ Makes me think he's not the most resistant to magic spells however.
Granted it was a MB, but it was Thundaga III on a Light SC (which did the same damage as the closing WS) and he took a lot more damage from the DDs than from me

It's the NM in the ENM fight "Bionic Bug" in Mine Shaft ####. The fight is recommended for 6 people, uncapped.
The Gigant Mantle drops here, as well as some of the "TP Bonus" weapons, and a Dragon Bone.
The exp reward is 3,000 xp.
Like all bugbears it's a Monk type and it uses regular specials that we can see from normal bugbears such as "Heavy Whisk" (single target knockback attack) and "Hydraulic Press" which is a nasty AoE attack it likes to spam.
It has a whole lot of HP, also.
It uses Mighty Strikes after which it becomes incredibly suspectible to damage, much like a Berserk condition but for magical attacks as well. It will take double damage from there on.
(I'm not clear if it is the 2hr causing it or another special it does, but it is guaranteed to happen.)
Bind, gravity and Sleep work on this mob. I've only done the fight once. We had rdm/smn and rdm/whm (myself) for healing; and we had a Pld tank (Whom tanked it straight up). Not everyone was 75 (I was 72 and our thief was 69 i think) but the fight went relatively well.

Might be a guard for a key item, like in Genkai 2.

This NM is associated with CoP. It is encountered during one of the paths during 5-3 "Three Paths".
it's a ENM mob, the one you are thinking of is Bugbby
What's the entire point of this NM? Does it drop anything or have any relevance to any quest?
